The room is quiet.
After seeing Mr. Carson, he walked silently towards us. Walang bakas ng pagkagulat o pagtataka man lang sa mukha niya. Totally opposite of our everybody's faces right now.
He eyed us all with total amusement and without a word, he walked away. He did not say anything but it feels like all of us read him, we have to follow.
And now, here we are, sitting in his office in the middle of the night.
If anybody saw us here, they might think that we are planning on something or we are in some kind of meeting with the head director of The Pivotal System—the stares will become more prominent. We are all serious. No one dares to speak.
I hope no one saw what happened aside from the people inside this room.
The lamps all over this place are lighted with dim yellow lights. The ginormous window behind his desk is also emitting light, the moonlight. This place does not emit the previous atmosphere it does. It is now calming, yet, somehow, it is like a calm before a storm.
We are all sitting in the couch while Mr. Carson is in the middle. His hands are clasped together under his chin, his fingers tapping each other in some kind of rhythm.
I looked around, all of us are waiting.
I saw Victoria. Of course, she is very uneasy. From the way her feet tapping the carpeted floor and the way she bits her lips. Nervous.
On the other hand, Timmy and company who witnessed the scene from a while ago looked very confused. Timmy is looking at Mr. Carson, waiting for him to say something while Clioe is looking at me.
Our eyes met but she avoided my gaze—fearing that I can see her eyes staring at me which I just did.
The twins are silently waiting while looking at the window while Ridley is looking at Victoria. The way he looks at her, he is very concerned, at the same time, questioning everything he has seen.
I looked at Mr. Carson again to only saw him nod at me.
Kumunot ang noo ko at umiwas ng tingin.
Why does he look so calm? Because reading the situation, it is clearly not.
"So...", Mr. Carson started opening a conversation after a while. I actually don't know how many minutes or seconds has passed. It seems like everybody is occupied with their thoughts that no one, even me noticed the time.
The night is very raw. I assume no one is feeling sleepy at all.
Answers.
That's what we need.
I can't let this night pass without hearing what I need to hear 'cause I might loose it. Just how many weeks am I staying here and there are so many weird things kept on happening—not like even before entering this weird place, weird thing started to happen even on the outside.
I wonder why.
Tonight, I need to know. I need answers.
"Are you all alright?", Mr. Carson said in a full voice but full of concern. Like a father asking his child.
The room was so quiet that it is deafening.
No one answered. No one dared.
He smiled.
"Oh. Sorry. I know that you are all in shock, right Tobias?", he looked at Esteban who is of all people here, the only one who is calm like he always is.
"It's Esteban.", he looked at Mr. Carson irritatingly which made Mr. Carson smiled.
"Esteban then.", he nodded and looked at all of us.
