"Time to wake up, honey..." Barbara said.
I groaned and woke up, and Adam was making waffles.
"Finally awake! Now, get dressed. School starts today!" he said.
"Crap, I totally forgot..." I said, falling off the couch and getting ready.
I put on a nice dress, some white Converse, and put a headband on. I grabbed the backpack that Lydia left on my bed as a surprise, (it was red) and walked to the kitchen.
"You look so grown-up..." Charles said.
"What grade are you going into?" Delia asked.
"Eighth grade." I said sheepishly.
"Almost in high school. Now, don't talk to boys, you're too young to date." Barbara said.
Charles and Delia looked at each other, then looked at Lydia, who said, "Don't date at all. You're too young to experience heartbreak."
"Okay, who in their right mind would break little Diesel's heart?" Delia said.
"No one. If they do, I will fight them." Lydia laughed.
"Lydia, violence is never the answer." Delia said sternly.
"Alright. Geez." Lydia said.
I heard a bus pull up in front of my house and I went to the door with Lydia. "The bus is here." I said.
"Have a good day!" Barbara said as we walked out.
Lydia said hi to the bus driver and went to her seat. I followed her, but the bus driver stopped me.
"Who are you?" she said.
"Hi. I'm Delilah Frye. Lydia's little sister. I'm adopted into the family."
"Are you a student at the school?" she asked.
"Yes, ma'am." I said. The bus driver looked at me a little funny but let me on. I sat next to Lydia, but then a girl tapped me on the shoulder.
"Hi! I'm Clover. What's your name?"
"Diesel." I said shyly.
"That's so cool! Come sit with me!" she said, and I moved over.
"Are you new?" she asked.
"Yeah. Lydia's family adopted me. Are you in eighth grade?"
"Yeah! Wait, let me see your schedule!" I pulled out a piece of paper and we exchanged schedules.
"We have math, science, and English together!" I said.
"My brother had the same science teacher we do. He said he's really strict." Clover said.
"Crap. I hate strict teachers."
"Doesn't everyone?"
"I guess."
Lydia leaned over, and said, "Are you talking about Mr. Rossi? God, I hated him. Good luck, kiddos."
We laughed as the bus pulled into my new school.
AN: I have been so out of ideas lately it's kinda scary. Anyway, hope you're enjoying the story, I really appreciate all the reads and votes. Have a good day! Catch ya later!
