I'm dead.
I'm gone.
My dad killed me and I didn't even get to say goodbye.
I never got to say goodbye to Lydia. For all I know she's still stuffed in my dad's truck. For all I know, Mom and Dad are out there looking for her.
I can't even imagine how they'll feel when they realize she's gone.
I never got to say goodbye to Charles and Delia. No, scratch that, Mom and Dad. The people that took me in and loved me unconditionally like I was one of their own.
I never got to say goodbye to Clover. Clover was my best friend, and truth be told, I had a slight crush on her. You may say she was my gay awakening.
At least Barbara and Adam are ghosts. At least I'll see them again.
But if there's one thing that's certain, is that my dad killed me and I know my family is going to give him what he deserves.
_________
Lydia's POV
"I'm sorry. We couldn't save her."
My little sister is dead. At least the cops found me and brought me back home. Why did it have to be Diesel that died? She didn't deserve this, not at all.
"Lydia-" Delia said.
"No." I snapped, shoving my step-mom away. "It's my fault."
"No. It's no one's fault but Diesel's bio dad. And he's in jail right now. And as for Diesel...she'll...she'll always be in our hearts." Dad said.
I nodded slowly, not wanting to wrap my mind around the fact that my little sister was gone. I had just gotten a little sister and now she's taken away from me.
"Come on Lydia, we have to go home."
"No."
"Lydia, I know this is hard, but I don't think Diesel would want to see you like this." I sighed, realizing Dad was right. I walked out of the hospital and waved to Diesel's lifeless body.
I love you.
________
"Barbara? Adam?" I asked, entering the attic.
"Hey Lydia. What's got you down?"
"Diesel's dead. It was her stupid biological father that kidnapped me and killed her." I said.
Barbara smiled and gave Adam a wink. "What?" I asked, truly confused.
"Hey. Lyds." someone said.
I turned back and sitting on a suitcase was a ghostly figure of Diesel, in the same black skinny jeans and T-shirt that she was wearing after school on that fateful day, like nothing had even happened.
"Diesel?" I said. Diesel giggled and then it hit me. "DIESEL!"
"Hey Lydia." my little sister said. "I'm here. In the attic with Barbara and Adam. And..."
"It's showtime!"
"BEETLEJUICE!"
"Hey, kid. French Fry wanted me to surprise you." Beetlejuice said.
I started crying happy tears and threw my arms around Diesel.
She laughed and said, "Okay, Lyds, I love you, and I know I'm a ghost, but I need to breathe!"
I smiled and looked around.
Maybe things would be alright.
