Diesel's POV

"Diesel!" I heard, and turned around to look. Charles, Delia, and Lydia ran in and wrapped me in a hug.

"Hi guys." I said. They were hugging me too tightly for me to even breathe. "Can I get some air in, please?" I asked. Charles and Delia let go but Lydia still hung on tight.

"Lydia!" I yelled.

"What?" Lyds asked. "I almost lost my little sister! Let me hug you!"

"Fine!" I groaned. Lydia laughed and finally let me breathe. "I was so worried about you when Clover called. Beetlejuice told me you tried to summon him."

"Yeah, I thought summoning a demon would be a good idea when I got kidnapped. And I'm not being sarcastic." I said, giggling.

"You need to learn to differentiate your sarcastic voice from your actual voice. I love you, Diesel, but you need to work on that." Lydia said, giggling.

"Enough with the sappy stuff. We need to get Diesel home." Delia said. We all agreed and ran out of the back door of the Walmart.

______

"So, what happened?" Delia asked.

"Um...my foster dad took me off the street outside of school and threw me into his truck. He stopped at a gas station, and I ran away while he wasn't looking. I must've crossed a state border or something." I explained. Delia and Charles were looking at me wide-eyed.

"You run away way too much, kid." Charles said. Adam and Barbara floated down the stairs. Adam said, "What's all the commotion?"

"Hi. I almost got kidnapped." I said casually. Barbara looked at Adam in shock, and Adam said "Care to explain, Diesel?"

"Long story." Lydia said before I could even get a breath in.

"Let me talk!" I argued. "It's my kidnapping story! Let me tell it!" Lydia and I kept arguing endlessly until Adam said, "Alright! Enough! Diesel, explain."

"So my old foster dad put me in his truck when I was heading home from school. And I ran away. I like to run." I said proudly.

"Um, I'm glad you're okay." Adam said. I honestly don't think he knew what to say for a minute.

"Yeah. Being nearly kidnapped is...not fun. I guess." I said, shifting awkwardly on my feet.

"Nearly kidnapped? You were practically...okay, let's change the subject!" Delia yelled. I laughed.

"Well, at least Diesel Frye is back." Lydia said.

"Not Frye. Deetz. Diesel Deetz." I said.

"Oh my God." Charles said. "She said it. She finally said it. She considers us her family."

"DIESEL!" Lydia yelled, throwing herself on me. I hugged my big sister tightly and said, "Hi."

"About that..." Delia smirked, then pulled out a packet of papers. She handed them to me and I gasped.

I was officially adopted.

I could not stop smiling. At all. It felt unreal to me that I was truly adopted. Away from all the foster homes.

I was home, I was safe, I was loved.

And that was a feeling I wouldn't trade for anything.

AN: After 4 months of not updating, I'M BACK IN THE GAME, BABY! I've been so busy with Adopted by Broadway that I totally forgot about this. And can we appreciate that this has 666 reads? Hope you enjoyed! Catch ya later!
