While I was talking with Kelsey and Joy, I heard someone laughing loudly behind me. As I turned the group of people passed me. I managed to recognize 6 people who I saw earlier, but there were lots of them this time. They were running and talking.
Abigail: Give me a moment girls.
Joy: What's that...I couldn't hear her finishing because of those people passing me. Suddenly, they stopped in front of me.
"Hello, hello," said one guy blocking my way.
"I never saw you here," said the girl next to him.
Abigail: I'm here every year. Who are you?
"Are you going with us?"
Abigail: Where?
"Does it matter?" said one of the girls.
Abigail: Yes.
"Zipline nearby."
Abigail: Not a chance. Thank you very much.
"If you say so."
"See you around!" yelled one of the guys.Kelsey: What was that?
Abigail: You didn't hear anything?
Joy: Just some noise.
Abigail: A group of about 20 people our age ran toward the zipline nearby and asked me to go.
Kelsey: Why are you still talking to us?
Joy: Yeah. Go!
Abigail: First, I'm in a dress. Second, no way!
Joy: I would start running with them even if they don't ask me to go.
Abigail: Not a chance. What are you two doing?
Joy: In a disco. What do you think we're doing!?
Kelsey: I'm watching a movie.
Abigail: Which one?
Kelsey: Nothing you watched. Twilight.
Abigail: Vampires?
Kelsey: Yeah.
Joy: Is that the one with Edward and Bella?
Kelsey: Yeah!
Joy: I love that movie. Especially Edward.
Kelsey: I think Jacob is hotter.
Joy: But Edward's a vampire!
Abigail: Should I leave you two alone?
Kelsey: No need. We'll discuss this tomorrow.
Joy: Sure we will.
Abigail: Well, it's midnight. I have to go back.
Joy: Already?
Abigail: It's midnight.
Joy: I'm sure your mom didn't say you have to go back at midnight.
Abigail: You two and my mother would be great together.
Kelsey: Of course! Your mom is so cool. She's funny, she looks great...
Joy: She likes romantic movies...
Abigail: Perfect love doesn't exist. The end.
Joy: Like you know...
Abigail: Those movies are stupid. Trying to make us hate ourselves.
Kelsey: Not true. Those are just stories about true love.
Abigail: Not existing true love.
Kelsey: Take that back!
Joy: Leave her alone. She'll never be cool like we are.
Abigail: Yeah, yeah. Let me ask you something. Have you ever had a perfect kiss?
Kelsey: That's easy. No.
Joy: Noup.
Abigail: My point is proved. I have to go now.
Joy: Bye.
Kelsey: Nothing is proven yet!I was in front of our house. It was about half an hour after midnight. I went to my mom's room. She was sleeping, so I went to finish my book.
The next day was the same as the first one. Only in the evening was different. We all went to Tuners' house a few minutes away from ours. As soon as I came little Mia hugged me.
Lauren: She missed you so much, Abigail. You should visit us in New Orleans sometimes.
Molly: We will.Lauren is Mia's mom so the two of them went to the table to talk while I was stuck with Mia. It was about midnight- the time we usually go home. I was enough of babysitting Mia, playing with her dolls, looking at her pink dresses. Suddenly, the man that visited my mom yesterday came with someone next to him.
Molly: Everyone, meet Paul. We are friends since high school.
They started greeting while I was still stuck with Mia in the back.
Paul: This is my son Travis.
The guy standing beside him was tall and dark-haired. He had a few tattoos on his arms and neck. He looked like a criminal from a movie. He was in the center of attention while I was still with Mia.
She was playing with her doll and a brown bear. While they were at the table in front of the house, I was a little far in the back. At least I had a view of the ocean. While I was looking at it, I didn't realize Travis was standing in front of me.Mia: Hi!
Travis: And you are?
Mia: Mia. I have... this many years. She showed five fingers. Travis sat down on the grass, looking at Mia who was still playing.
Travis: I'm...
Abigail: Travis. I heard. Abigail.
Travis: What are you two doing here?
Abigail: We...
Mia: They are getting married!Mia was holding her doll and a bear. I rolled my eyes.
Abigail: Do you even know what love is Mia?
Mia: Yes. It's this! She showed a paper with a red-colored heart in the middle.
Abigail: That just a...
Travis: Correct. You're really smart. That was rude. Kids should learn that love doesn't exist right away. Travis was looking at me.
Abigail: What?
Travis: Wanna disappear from here?
Abigail: Where?
Travis: Does it matter?
Abigail: Yes.
Travis: I don't know. Anywhere.
Abigail: Mia. If our parents ask, we'll come back soon, okay?
Mia: Where are you going?
Abigail: Nowhere.
Mia: Are you going to marry?
Abigail: Absolutely...
Travis: Yes. And we'll be right back.
Mia: Okay.We were now running behind the house. I didn't see any point in that since there was a stone fence- about a foot taller than me.
Abigail: Why did you tell her we're getting married?
Travis: I think it would be funny when my father hears I'm getting married.I just rolled my eyes. We were in front of the fence now.
Abigail: What now, smartass?
In one fast movement, Travis was standing on one of the pillars.
Abigail: No way.
Travis: Yes way. Get up.
Abigail: No thanks.
Travis: You will return babysitting?
Abigail: No...I reached for his hand and got up. Since there was no room for two on the pillar, he jumped down and I was the only one on the pillar.
Abigail: Please tell me you have another plan.
Travis: Want me to grab some ladders?
Abigail: Yes.
Travis: I'm joking. Jump.
Abigail: I can't believe I'm doing this.
Travis: Start to believe.I jumped and came to the hard ground. I felt I'm starting to fall, but Travis's hand caught me somehow. We started walking in an unknown direction for me.
Abigail: Looks like you did that hundreds of times.
Travis: Thousands. My school has a higher fence.
Abigail: You're running from school?
Travis: Used to run would be more precious.
Abigail: Used to?
Travis: I'm 18.
Abigail: Lucky you.
Travis: If I got a coin for every time I heard that...Out of nowhere, the group of people started coming toward us. It was that group I saw the other day on the beach. There were 3 guys and 2 girls. Travis was obviously one of them. What did I get myself into...
