New life

The next day I packed my suitcase and we left the house. At the airport, we met with Paul and Travis. While my mom and Paul were chatting in the plane, I was sitting silently next to Travis. He was looking through the window and I was trying to get some sleep. The next thing I know, my mom woke me up.

Molly: We're here.

When we got out of the airport, we all squeezed into the taxi. After a few minutes of driving, we were in front of a big, white house. It was nothing like the house I used to live in before.

Molly: Do you like it?
Abigail: It's gorgeous.

My mom took me to my new room. It was big with white walls. There was a big closet with a mirror on its front, a big bed, and a table with a laptop on it.

Molly: The best part is that all of our stuff is already here, so we don't have to go back to our house.
Abigail: What will happen to our old house?
Molly: I sold it.

I couldn't believe it. This was actually happening. It wasn't a dream- this was reality.

Molly: The only thing you maybe won't like is sharing the bathroom.
Abigail: With who?
Molly: Travis of course. We didn't find anything with two bathrooms that were close to your school.
Abigail: It's okay.
Molly: I'm so glad you like it!

On my mom's face was a big, happy smile. If she's happy, I'm, happy. I left with my mom and I returned with mom, father, and brother.

Abigail: Mom?
Molly: Yeah?
Abigail: When will you get married?
Molly: We didn't really think about it. Marriage is just on the paper and it really doesn't matter to us. Why do you ask?
Abigail: I was curious.

Molly: The best part of this is that Paul and I have the room upstairs, so you two can do whatever you want downstairs.
Abigail: What would we be doing?
Molly: You know, inviting friends and stuff like that. You had something else in mind?
Abigail: No...
Molly: Okay. I'll go unpack. See you at lunch.

At that moment, my phone rang.

Joy: Hi! When can we see you?
Abigail: Can I come to you right now? Please.
Joy: Sure. What's up?
Abigail: I'll tell you when I come.
Joy. Okay. I'll tell Kelsey.
Abigail: Thanks.

I hung up and put my phone in the back pocket. Before I go, I peeked at the bathroom. The strangest thing was the shower cubicle because we used to have a bathtub. I yelled at my mom I'll go to see Joy and I won't be at lunch or dinner.

She told me to have fun and I left. The moment I exited the house, tears started sliding down my face. I can't believe I'm gonna live with Travis. I entered Joy's house and found her in her room. Kelsey was already there.

I was broken and I cried for ten minutes. Then I managed to calm myself and started telling everything to them.
I told them almost everything- zipline, night swimming, escaping from Mia, escaping my house, looking at stars, meeting his friends, and our fight- if I can call it a fight.

Joy: I'm confused. He told you you're breaking up and then he kissed you and told you he wouldn't break up with you?
Abigail: Yeah.
Joy: Then which one is it? What are you two?
Abigail: I don't know.
Kelsey: You're making her feel worse. Look, guys are complicated.
Abigail: I knew that much, thank you.

Kelsey: Look. You have to get over him. Start fighting with him. Start to criticize him. Start being a bitch. And stop looking at him like he's perfect. Yell at him, fight with him. Just hate him.
Abigail: I can't hate him.
Kelsey: Sure you can. And sharing one bathroom will make it easier, trust me.
Joy: I have to agree with her. You have to get over your perfect vacation.
Abigail: It was everything but perfect.
Kelsey: See? That's a start. It wasn't perfect. And Curtis is hotter than him.

Abigail: What are you talking about?
Kelsey: If you wanna get over Travis, you need someone else.
Abigail: And my first choice is a guy I saw barely twice?
Kelsey: Have anything better?
Abigail: No, not really.
Joy: Then it's settled. You're getting over Travis. Just be a bitch, you're good at that.
Abigail: What's that supposed to mean?

We started laughing. I'm so happy to have two of them. We were mostly watching movies for the rest of the day. Well, mostly I was listening to two of them fighting which actor is better. It was about 10 p.m. when I realized I have to go back home.

Joy: You sure you don't wanna sleep here?
Abigail: Yeah. I have to go.
Kelsey: Just remember. Be a bitch.
Abigail: I will. Bye girls.
Joy: I have something you can think about while you're at home.
Abigail: What?
Joy: School is starting for a week.
Abigail: Thank you for that depressing thought.
Joy: I thought you could have fun with reading and studying.
Kelsey: Yeah, you do that every year.
Abigail: I'll try.

I went home. The walk home was the longest walk I ever had. My thoughts were unclear and everything was a mess- my life, my thoughts, and my room.
I started unpacking and putting things in its new place. It was about 1 a.m. when I was done.

The next day was pretty boring. For the biggest part of the day, I was alone. Paul and my mom went to work and Travis disappeared, thank God. My book was finally finished when my mom got back to work.

Molly: You're alone?
Abigail: Yeah. You're the first one home.
Molly: So, how do you like the new house?
Abigail: It's great.
Molly: I'm glad.

At around 7 p.m. we had dinner- four of us. My mom and Paul were talking and laughing while I was trying to eat as fast as I could.

Abigail: I'll be with Joy and Kelsey.
Molly: I thought we could watch a movie or something.
Abigail: Can we do it tomorrow? We haven't seen each other for a long time.
Molly: Okay. Bye.
