I still haven't seen the garden, just from inside. I want to go through the labyrinth, which seemed bigger than expected.

So I put on a warm sweater and jeans before going downstairs and enter the kitchen.

"Hello, Jennie", I smile and her head snaps up. "Hii, Tae! How are you? Are you hungry?" she asks and I nod little, telling her I'm good and asking how she is. "I'll make you something. I'm good too, Jisoo is leaving me alone since she's free so I'm kinda bored though", she pouts. "There are other cooks, right? Aren't you friends with them?" I ask and she shakes her head. "No not really, working here isn't about friends or having fun, it's about doing your job. If Jisoo and I weren't mates we wouldn't be chatting together. When the Alpha walks in we should stay quiet too", Jennie says and I frown.

"Why?" I ask and she wants to explain, but when she sees something behind me she stops. "Your food will be done in ten minutes, Taehyung. You can wait over there if you want", she says and I frown confused. "Make me something too, Kim", a deep voice behind me says and I turn around to see Jeongguk.

"Of course, Alpha", Jennie says and turns away from us. I see Jeongguk sit down on a chair and slowly make my way towards him to sit next to him.

"So you met Jennie?" Jeongguk says and I nod. "W-" I wanted to talk but he interrupts me. "We're going to Ahgase pack in an hour. I need to handle some things with the Alpha, Alpha Lim and the Luna wants to meet you", Jeongguk says and I nod softly. Guess I won't be seeing the garden today...

"Why?" I ask softly. "Because you'll be the Luna of the pack in some days and the Ahgase pack is our ally, why have some work to do and they want to meet the new Luna, so why not?" Jeongguk says and shrugs unbothered as he grabs his phone. "Can I first call my friend, he was supposed to attend the wedding yesterday, but I didn't see him", I ask, and Jeongguk nods, all of a sudden handing me his phone. "You know his number?" he asks and I nod, remembering what it was from the last time my mother gave me his number. I guess having a photographic memory is handy for some things.

I take his phone and start calling Jimin, lifting the device to my ear and waiting till Jimin picks up.

"Hello, with Park Jimin", I hear. "Hey Jiminie, it's me, Tae", I say. "Tae! Hii how are you?" "I'm good, how are you, Jiminie? Why weren't you at the wedding yesterday?" "Oh yes.. about that.. my mother is in the hospital", Jimin says softly. "What? O my god what happened?" I ask worriedly.

"I don't know. I came home and saw her lay on the ground all pale and lifeless so I brought her to the pack doctor and he's trying to help her", Jimin says. It's quiet for some seconds. "I'm sorry this happened, Jiminie. Can I do something for you?" I ask.

"Can you maybe come here?" Jimin asks softly as if he's scared for a 'no'. "Of course, Jiminie. Wait a second", I say and turn to Jeongguk, keeping the phone against my chest.

"Alpha, I need to go to Jimin", I say and he raises an eyebrow. "Why?" he asks with a bit annoyed tone. "He just needs me right now. He's going through a hard time", I say. "You can't you need to stay here", Jeongguk says and just then Jennie places two plates in front of us.

"Thanks, Jennie", I say and she smiles a little before leaving. "Alpha, please. This is important", I say. "It's not, he has more people to support him let them come", Jeongguk growls lowly, but I'm too determined to give a shit.

"He doesn't! Please, Alpha. Please let me go there", I beg him and he just looks at me, again his red intense eyes look right through me and I have a hard time not looking away, which in the end still happens.
