It's pouring outside, thought No. 7 as he looked out the window of the black van, currently speeding down a highway while narrowly dodging the passing cars. Perfect weather for my assignment tonight.
The car jerked into a private road and started slowing down. When the car finally stopped, No. 7 hopped out of the car and sprinted towards the manor at the end of the road.
When he got closer, No. 7 went to the side of the manor and started scaling the wall by grabbing onto the different ledges and cracks. The rain made some parts of the wall slippery and about halfway up No. 7 slipped and fell three feet before hooking his leg on a window sill.
When he reached the top window, he took out his knife and skillfully unlocked it. The light inside the manor was dimmed due to the late hour, but No. 7 still stayed in the shadows of the hallways while he silently moved throughout the manor.
At the first door, No. 7 listened to the sounds of steady breathing inside and then slowly opened the door. Two people were sleeping inside. Most likely the owners of the manor. Without any remorse No. 7 took his dagger and slit the throats of the two on the bed, putting them into an eternal slumber.
When he went back into the hallway No. 7 noticed the guards stalking towards the bedroom. Excitement rose up in the assassin since it had been a while since he tried to take on so many guards at once.
There were about twenty guards in total in the house. five of them were in the same hallway as No. 7 and the rest were either downstairs or right outside. No. 7 always thought that a job like this was best done quickly so he rushed the first two guards.
Right before he was about to reach them another dagger appeared in his hand and he ruthlessly stabbed each of them in the heart. The other guards noticed and one of them shouted,
"Intruder!", before he was quickly silenced. It took a total of ten minutes for No. 7 to clear out the entire manor. As he stepped out into the rain he sighed heavily, I wonder if there is anything left for me to learn. What's the point of living if I'm just going to continue doing the same thing without anything new to entertain me.
As he stepped into the van a deep voice from the driver's seat asked, "no problems?"
No. 7 smiled, "nope."
