When morning came, Jack had already been up long before the others stirred. Anthony got up first, with dark rings underneath his eyes.
"Are you okay? It doesn't seem like you got much sleep." Jack asked, oblivious to the fact that Anthony was awake when the intruder had appeared. When Jack had spoken Anthony looked almost scared, but then he just nodded and left the room to take a shower.
Jack wondered what that was about, but then he just shrugged it off and left for the gym. Today was mandatory family day where the students told their parents what their classes were, and introduced them to friends.
When Jack entered the gym there was an obvious awkward atmosphere in the air. Half of the parents were concerned for the well being of their child, while the other half wanted their child to take this opportunity to make connections towards the richer and more powerful students.
Jack sighed. He really didn't see the point of this. His 'family' hadn't yet arrived so Jack walked over to the bench on the side of the gym and sat down. Half an hour passed, and most of the students were here. Ray and Alex came over to him to introduce their families to him. He greeted them thinking that they would leave as soon as he said hello, but they just formed a crowd around him and continued to talk.
Then a small commotion could be heard by the entrance. 11 people had just walked in, each one of them more suspicious than the next. When they spotted Jack some of them sneered as they walked over towards him.
"Hey, brother!" said a short pale boy with an eye patch and pale blue hair said. Jack only nodded in acknowledgment.
"Mother, did you have to bring all of them? You know they'll just end up embarrassing the family like always." Hearing this, the boss smiled and walked coldly over to Jack. The other families were closely watching because they hoped that some sort of drama would happen that they could talk about with their friends.
The boss grabbed Jack's shoulder and squeezed as hard as she could. Jack could feel the blood seeping out of the wounds her nails made, but since he was wearing a thick undershirt no one else could see it.
"Your family wanted to see you, so don't shame them and instead, how about introducing them to your friends. You do have friends, yeah?" The last question that the boss asked was obviously another threat and Jack just nodded slowly.
"Hey Ray, Alex, let me introduce you to my family." Ray and Alex came over cautiously. Then Anthony, who was also around saw that Jack had beckoned him closer and complied to his request out of curiosity.
Pointing out each member as he spoke Jack said, "The one with the eye patch and the pale blue hair is my youngest brother, Peter. The girl with the gold hair and the umbrella is Anne-Marie. The tall nerd is Mark. The handsome blonde is Eugene. Markov is the Russian with the scar over his eye. The brown haired woman is Priscilla. The large guy is John. And the Italian is Tony. These are my siblings." When Jack finished Ray and Alex both exchanged glances.
How can this many people, all of whom look completely different and of completely different ages, all be his siblings. Ray and Alex thought at the same time. Anthony however was puzzling over something. When the siblings said hello when Jack introduced them, he realized that Mark's voice sounded exactly the same as the voice from the night before.
"Oh and the black haired beauty is our mother." A young looking woman raised her hand and smiled at all of them making their jaws drop. "We're adopted so we're not actually related." Jack clarified.
Eugene quickly said goodbye and then left to flirt with any and all girls he saw. Anne-Marie was eloquently bowing to everyone and speaking to them while twirling her umbrella behind her. Tony and Markov, the scariest looking out of them all were watching other people in a corner while hurriedly whispering to each other. Priscilla and Wendy were gossiping with Ellie, who had come over in the middle of Jack's introduction. Mark had stayed next to Jack along with the boss.
Ray thought that the more he knew about Jack, the more curious he got. From the scars to his vastly different family members, almost every part of Jack was mysterious. Suddenly Ray felt a small tug on his sleeve and he looked down to see Jack's youngest sister, Anne-Marie.
"Mister, are you Jack's friend?" The little girl politely asked. Ray nodded and then to his surprise the girl snickered. "Mister, you don't know anything about him, yet you call yourself his friend. He probably hates you, you know?" Ray's eyebrows shot up in surprise. This innocent looking little girl was laughing at him because she knew more about her brother than he did?
"Hey, little girl. You shouldn't make fun of your seniors like this. It will get you in trouble one day." The little girl just laughed, twirled her umbrella and skipped towards Jack. She whispered something in his ear that made him turn towards Ray.Ray tilted his head. Then Jack just sneered at him, shocking Ray so much because Jack had never been mean to anyone, yet when he was with his family his personality changed drastically.
