When they arrived at the gate Jack could see the massive white building that was the academy. After they got through the gate they joined the line of expensive cars that were dropping kids off at school.
When Jack got out of the car he took out his school bag, which the boss personally prepared for him and started briskly walking towards the entrance. A girl around the age of 16 was handing out maps and fliers for the other students.
When she saw Jack approaching she fumbled with the pile of paper and when she reached out to hand him the pamphlet the stack fell to the ground. Her face turned red and she knelt down to pick up the mess.
Jack knelt down in front of her and quickly and efficiently brought together all the papers and handed them back to her. She looked up and met Jack's gaze. Turning an even deeper shade of red she thanked him and gave him his paper.
After that Jack turned and walked into the school. The auditorium which held the ceremony was at the end of the first hallway and when Jack opened the door he saw a massive room at least 75 feet high and a stage at the end which looked like it could have been used at some of the most professional opera houses.
The seating was arranged by which year you were in and Jack a third year sat near the back. The girl from the front had just come in and as she spotted Jack she walked towards him.
"Excuse me. Um, I just wanted to thank you once more." She looked around the auditorium and then continued, "If you wouldn't mind, may I sit next to you?" Jack looked up at her and thought, I would mind, actually. But he decided that it wouldn't hurt to have at least one acquaintance at this dreadful place.
"No I don't mind. Please sit." And with that the girl sat down in the chair besides him. The following twenty minutes went by in silence because Jack wasn't saying anything and the girl was too shy. But then something shone in the girls eye and she turned towards Jack.
"Have you heard about that amazingly talented third year that will be joining us? I heard he got full marks on the entrance test and comes from a really rich family. His name was Jack, I think. Jack Hopperton." The girl's excitement clearly shone on her face, and then she realized another thing.
"Oh, I have terrible manners. I apologize. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ellie Snarj. My family owns the trading company that provides guns for the government." Jack smiled at that. The Snarj trading company not only provided for the government but my boss frequently traded with them as well.
Jack then noticed her questioning gaze and realized she was waiting for his introduction. "Good morning, Ellie. I apologize if I seemed rude earlier for my silence. My name is Jack..." But before he could continue his introduction the lights dimmed and the other students started clapping.
On the stage an old man with an interesting taste of fashion walked towards the middle of the stage towards the mic. He was wearing a bright pink cardigan with brown trousers as well as a top hat so shiny that Jack's eyes hurt from the light's reflection.
"Greetings new students, and welcome back old students..." The old man continued his speech with a voice that made you fall asleep from listening.
