After the ceremony was over Jack returned to the mansion and went straight to his room. The school had handed out maps so to relieve his boredom, Jack studied the maps until they bore holes in his eyes.

A week quickly passed and the first day of school came. As Jack walked into the classroom he saw the students of the class conversing and laughing together. Most of the students already knew each other from previous school years. In fact Jack was the only new student of their class.

Jack sat down at his seat and the teacher walked in. Everyone quieted down. "Hello everyone. It's good to be back. This year we have a new student in our class. Can Mr. Jack Hopperton please come to the front?" At the mention of his name all the students' eyes widened. Ellie, who was also in this class swiveled around to look at Jack.

As Jack stood up Ellie's mouth fell open. Jack walked up to the front of the classroom and looked at the teacher. The teacher seemed to be waiting for something, but seeing as Jack had no intention of speaking he prodded, "Jack, could you give us an introduction? Your name, your family's work, perhaps your school duty?" Jack nodded and turned towards the class.

"My name is Jack Hopperton. My family owns the Hopperton Manufacturing company. And I am this year's valedictorian." He bowed his head and then returned to his seat. The other students seemed awestruck for a moment before they began conversing amongst themselves.

"Have you heard, he got full marks on the exam!"

"Pfffft, that guy? That's probably just a rumor."

"But, Ellie, the smartest, only got one point off, and he became the valedictorian so he had to have."

"It's probably just because he's really rich."

The teacher decided that this was probably the time to intervene so he began taking attendance and then started class. This was french class and the teacher would sometimes call on students to translate until they found a word they didn't understand. When it was finally Jack's turn everyone looked very expectant to see if he was as smart as rumored.

Jack picked up the book and sighed, I can't believe they are still reading such elementary books at their age. He then began his perfect translation of the story not stopping until the teacher intervened saying that it was time for someone else to go. Jack smirked and sat down again.

The rest of the day went by like this as well. Jack thought that he was actually enjoying this peacefulness. But as soon as he started to fit in and someone actually stepped up to talk to him, PE class had come. Jack had been concerned about this class for quite some time because he didn't want anyone to notice his physical skills.
