A/N: Hey guys! This chapter's a little bit shorter than the rest, sorry, I had writer's block when I wrote it. Don't stop reading, and I hope you enjoy!

Edited: Okay, I edited this chapter (without writers block) so it should be a bit better and longer!

*Rachel's POV*

We've been in the car for about 15 minutes before the arguing between my mother and I stops. Now, both of us just sit in uncomfortable silence. While Birmingham is only about 35 minutes away, it's definitely going to be a long car ride. Mum eventually leans over to turn on the radio. Instantly, One Direction blares through the car speakers, making me let out a loud groan. I reach over, changing the radio to some country music station. It's not the best, but at least it's not them.

A song about seeing someone again after they've left comes on, making me groan.

Seriously? How cliché could this get? I've got theme music and everything.

"Aw, how fitting," Mum comments. "This is the girl who won American Idol, I think."

Since when do you keep up with American talent shows?" I quirk an eyebrow at her. The woman smiles.

"What? I'm hip!"

I feel overwhelmed when we pull up to Birmingham Airport. After parking in a nearby parking deck, we enter the huge building, my mind fuzzy.

Liam and his band are being held under tight security, since there are a lot of fans around. Some seem to recognize me and Mum, but they keep their distance as we walk by.

Mum and I have to check in with Airport security before we can be led to the private room where the boys are waiting. Once we've done that, a large man comes out to greet us. I can see from his name tag that his name is Mack. He must be head of security.

"Hi, ladies. Please follow me through this entryway. Sorry about all the chaos." He motions to the small group of fans behind us. "Of course we use barriers around here, but this band in particular is so popular. Haven't seen crowds like this since I worked for Sir Elton!"

"You worked security for Elton John?" I ask in bewilderment. The big burly man nods whilst grinning.

"Sure did." Mack answers, leading us past another barricade blocking off a gaggle of teenage girls. "The man is an absolute legend. Never had more fun working a gig."

While I am absolutely entranced by the flashiness of the current experience, my mother is quite clearly shaken up.  "It's no problem." she answers quietly when Mack apologizes again for the chaos. Neither her nor I have ever been around real fans before. The experience excites me, but also brings an element of anxiety I've never had before. Mum doesn't seem to be handling them well, either. I've seen the numbers online, but witnessing the masses of fans here for Liam gives me a reality check as to how popular he really is.

As Mack leads us down a narrow hallway, Mum texts Liam to let him know we're almost here. His reply is instant. So he can text mum, and not even bother replying to me? It kind of makes me sick how much that boy doesn't regard anyone's feelings but his own.

Soon enough, we stop in front of a large, navy blue door. Mack turns around to us.

"They're inside. Please, let us know if you need anything. I can have one of my guys get it for you straight away."
