*Rachel's POV*
"Why, hello there, Miss Payne. It's weird seeing you here." Harry says, sarcastically, while still grinning. I laugh nervously, unsure of what to say.
Harry seems alright, but I've heard he is a player, mainly from teen gossip magazines. Yes, I do read those, too! I don't want to get into any drama, so I attempt to keep the mood light-hearted and casual.
"I know, right? It's not like I live here or anything." I joke. "But yeah, I'm just getting a glass of milk. Did you come downstairs for a midnight snack, too?"
"Yep." replies Harry, popping the P.
I wave to him and turn to go back upstairs. However, being the clumsy person I am, of course I trip. I close my eyes, waiting to for the hard, cold, impact of the floor to hit me. Seeing as I never do, though, and someone's arms are now around me, I look up. My eyes meet Harry's, and he has caught me.
"Careful, don't fall." Harry whispers.
Maybe he's trying to make his voice sound raspy and low for added romantic effect, but let me tell you, it is not working. I'm just not into Harry that way. He seems a little too, I don't know, cute.
I smile at him weakly, not knowing what to do in this seriously awkward position. As soon as Harry leans in, though, I know exactly what needs to be done.
"Harry, what are you doing?" I ask, slightly alarmed.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" He says smoothly, pulling me up. "I'm helping you up."
I have to admit, for someone who just tried to kiss me and utterly failed, he is playing it off like it never happened. It's almost making me believe that what just happened was my imagination. He must be a really good actor.
I say goodnight to Harry, then tip-toe up the stairs, crawling into bed carefully so as not to wake Liam. I can't wait to spend some time with him in the morning.
*9 a.m. *
I am on a cloud. On the cloud next to me is Liam. We are talking, laughing, and playing like we did when we were little. But slowly, Liam starts to drift away, getting farther each second.
"Liam, no! Don't leave me!" I cry.
"Don't worry!" Liam says reassuringly. "I'll be back soon!" I recognise these as the words he said to me and Mum before he left for The X factor, and I don't believe him at all.
Suddenly, I see four pairs of arms yank Liam off of his cloud and into the fog. I scream and scream and scream for Liam, and I know I will never see my beloved brother again. I scream even more when my cloud starts shaking, rocking me back and forth to the point where I am about to fall off.
I wake up to find Liam shaking me. I look up at him, and then wrap him in a tight hug. I don't let go until I hear his muffled voice say, "I need to breathe, Rach."
"Let's have a brother-sister day!" I exclaim, releasing him and jumping out of bed with a smile.
"Okay!" Liam says, chuckling. "What do you want to do?"
"Let's go on a bike ride to Nando's," I say, an idea forming in my head. "And while we're there, we can pick something up for Niall!" Liam looks thoughtful.
"Okay," he says. "Then let's go to the old café."
I nod. There is a café in town that Liam and I have been going to together since we were ten or eleven. We never really referred to it as it's full name, Tom's Café, we just call it the café, which is easier for us since Mum and Dad always knew what we were talking about, anyways.
We're friends with the owner Tom. He was always nice to us when we were little, giving us Lollipops and small, but heartfelt Christmas gifts when the time came around. Over the years, we just sort of bonded, I guess. But, the last time Liam and I both saw Tom was about a week before Liam left for The X-Factor.
*Liam's POV*
I like how my sister thinks. It would be nice to pick something up for Niall.
I should start calling Rachel Auntie Direction!
No, it doesn't have much of a ring to it. I ask if we can go to the café, so that we can catch up. She and I have a lot to talk about, and because I haven't been there in ages! We walk out to the garage, and I get Rachel's old bicycle, along with my old red one. I'm glad mine is still here, I might have been upset if Mum had sold it to someone, or something.
After grabbing our bicycles and putting on our helmets, Rachel and I begin to make our to the café, laughing as we travel through the beautiful streets of Wolverhampton, lined with lovely green trees.
