"What?" She responded and looked at the blonde who was starting to breakdown in tears.
"I-It was my fault. Because of me, Yoonseo died. It was all my fault." He ran his fingers through his hair and let out a whimper. He banged his head gently on the table and looked up at Ji Eun again with an odd expression of sadness, anger and guilt.
"My sister died....." His voice trailed off as he looked into her eyes.
"Yoongi..." She tried to hold his hand but he avoided her touch.
"....Yoonseo was gone because I'm such a pushover. I'm a bad person. I'm not a good brother. I can't do anything right. I always mess up, I--"
"Yoongi." Ji Eun stood up and sat beside Yoongi as she took his cold, shaking hands away from his tear-stained face and into her small, warm hands. "Don't speak to yourself like that. You've lied too many times but we all know you're not a bad person, okay?"
Yoongi looked down and kept crying but Ji Eun wiped her tears away, then asked.
"Why? What happened to your sister? Why-why are you blaming yourself?"
He gulped and trapped his lower lip between his teeth too hard. The memory of that tragic day instantly flashbacked in his mind, the moment he tried to remember it.
"It was my older brother's birthday....."
Flashback
The 19 year old Yoongi rummaged through his desk for extra money that he could use to buy a birthday gift for Junki, his older brother. Their family was poor and since that day he auditionedat BigHit to become a rapper, he had to leave his family at Deagu to become a trainee in Seoul.
His family was very mad about what he did. His mom, his dad and his brother wouldn't support him with his music career no matter how much he tried to persuade them. The only one who knew what Yoongi wanted was his sister, Yoonseo.
He heard a knock on the door.
"Come in!" He shouted as he continued to gather crumpled bills and coins that he saved for his brother's birthday.
