"Stop! This is serious guys!"

Maria was going on a date. A date with a boy from her linguistics class, he asked her out and was fairly surprised that she said yes. Maria has had a crush on this boy since the end of her freshman year when she ran into him in the halls, she thought he was cute.

"Who chooses a Tuesday night to go out on a date with someone?" Michael laughed, wrapping one of Maria's beige sweaters around his head, "Like out of all the days, he chose a Tuesday."

"Wait, is this the same guy who looks like Topher Grace?" Lyla asked it hadn't hit her that no one in the room knew who Topher Grace was and his role in That 70s Show as Eric Forman. "Never mind," she brushed off.

"His name is Josh," Maria corrected, "and he is very cute." She blushed, after searching for what seemed like hours Maria finally found the right outfit, the boy's stared blankly at the plain collection of clothes that she had picked out.

"It took you an hour to pick that out?" Michael questioned, "That's what you wear every day." He pointed at the crème sweater and the light washed jeans in Maria's hands, "You had me thinking you'd pick out a scandalous dress or something."

"Where is this Josh dude even taking you?" Calum asked, "And what is the dress code for tonight?"

"I don't know where he's taking me," Maria said, "but he did say to dress casual."

"You know what, let me pick out your outfit," Calum said sitting up from Lyla's bed and walking over to Maria's closet, bending down to pull out an abandoned shirt that had been tossed in the back of the shelf and a white cropped shirt from the hangers. "Here," Calum said tossing the clothes over to the girl.

"Oh, Cal, she can't wear skinny jeans with that outfit," Lyla added rushing over to her dressers to pick out a pair of baggy jeans. "I mean, I am like size or two bigger than you, but if we get a belt," she spoke fishing out of one Maria's belts from the closet, "we can turn this into a fit."

"You're a genius," Calum praised, "Maria go change," he said waving her off to the bathroom to get dressed. "I want to see what our brilliance looks like on a model."

Maria got changed and walked out with her arms hugging her stomach, the clothes weren't that cropped for Maria to feel completely exposed, and on her part, Maria wasn't wearing the jeans on her waist like how they were designed.

"Hold on," Lyla said hurrying over to her friend, unbuckling the belt before pulling the jeans higher up the girl's body and sizing the belt tight – yet still comfortable – around Maria's waist. "There, that's much better," she breathed, placing her hands on her hips as she admired the view.

"No, not quite," Calum commented, approaching the Maria and starting to unbutton the blue plaid top to show the white shirt underneath it, "there, now we're good."

"What if I get cold?" Maria asked, "I'll freeze!"

"No, you won't," Michael said causing the girl to turn around to face the boy, "he'll give you his jacket, everyone knows that."

"What if Josh doesn't?" Michael asked again, this was her first date in months, she wasn't prepared nor knew half the things her friends did. She was very inexperienced when it meant being involved with another person romantically. "What if he tries to kiss me?" She panicked, "I haven't kissed anyone in two years!"

"I'll kiss you," Michael offered.

"What?"

"What?"

"Guys, I don't know if I can go on this date or not." Maria moaned falling back onto her bed, "Is it too late to cancel?"

"But, our outfit," Calum said earning a soft slap to his chest, "I mean, you can't, this is your chance to get out there with a Topher Grace lookalike." He encouraged, "God knows you'll never get an opportunity like this again."
