Lyla was fairly surprised that Luke agreed to join her, she would have gone on that night drive if she hadn't run into Luke, except she didn't because Lyla assumed that he wouldn't want to hop in a car and drive around the city with a group of friends he's only been around once before. And Lyla didn't want Luke to feel left out, as silly as it sounds, she did it out of courtesy along with inviting him over to her dorm to watch her favourite movies on the tiny screen her laptop provides.

Little did Lyla know; Luke rather watch The House Bunny with Lyla instead of going home. She tried her best to not act shocked, she didn't know the blond that well, but she did know that he wasn't the type to go back to the friend of his best friend's dorm room to watch movies on her – slightly bigger – twin-sized bed.

Though Luke was quite surprised with his response too. On a regular day, he would have gone home and sat out on his rooftop while casually drinking his way through a bottle of scotch as he stared out onto the horizon. Oh, not today, instead of being in his multi-million-dollar penthouse with a tv bigger than Lyla's bed, Luke's in a dorm room the size of his closet.

Much to his wonder, Lyla's dorm was split in half, it was clear that two unalike people lived there. One side was neat, with a – small – wall of pictures placed beside a made bed, yet to the left was a completely different world. The entirety of the wall was cluttered and covered in photos, some of bands and singers, and others were of pictures of friends. Fairy lights were hung up above the messy bed.

"Sorry, it's a mess, I didn't think anyone would come over today," Lyla said, dumping the pile of clothes abandoned on the chair into the wardrobe, kicking off her shoes and discarding them off to the corner.

Luke didn't care, it just gave him a better idea of the type of person Lyla is. It's no wonder how she became close friends with Michael and Calum. She has the room they always wanted back in high school, and from the pictures on her walls and a very scattered taste in music that ranges from metalcore to bubblegum pop.

"I don't think I thought this through," Lyla mumbled pursing her lips as she stared at the small bed, she turned to face Luke hoping to get his opinion of the situation. "I mean we can sit on the floor."

The boy felt amused by Lyla's confusion, sit on the floor, for god's sake they weren't fourteen anymore. Sharing a bed shouldn't be the end of the world. So, what that it was a small bed compared to two people? All they had to do was be a little bit closer together.

"Or not," Lyla added seeing the amused expression Luke's face, "I was just making sure that you were okay with it." She mumbled, sitting on the bed and reaching for her laptop, patting the spot beside her for Luke.

He wasn't sure how he would comfortably fit on the tiny portion of the bed, he's not sixteen anymore, there was no way that he'd stay put on the bed without falling off the side. Nevertheless, Luke climbed onto the bed, "This is not going to work." He said Lyla knew he was right as she was probably just as uncomfortable as him.

"Should we sit on the floor?"

"No, there's a better solution than sitting on the floor," Luke stated, positioning his hands on either side of the girl's waist before placing her to sit between his legs. The gesture startled Lyla at first as he did it so smoothly, picked her up like she weighed nothing, which too was unexpected.

"Oh, this works too, I guess."

Lyla hesitantly leaned back into Luke's chest, the first thing she noticed was that he was cold, that contrasted to Lyla's warmth. The blond instantly noticed the heat that radiated itself off of the girl, though what scared him was the fact he wished she could bring that same warmth into his bed at night.
