Ashton had gotten a lot of messages from Michael, Calum, and Maria last night telling him to 'drop by' Luke's apartment. And inform the group on what is happening at the secure multi-million-dollar penthouse. In other words, they requested that Ashton spy on their friends and take photos. Since they all know that Luke and Lyla will not say anything, or go into the details as to what happened.

The boy had driven in the early morning from Harlem to Tribeca, leaving home before the sun could fully rise for extra caution that Luke and Lyla were still asleep. Maria insisted on tagging along, causing Ashton to make a pitstop at the university twenty minutes before sunrise. She was particularly ecstatic to find out all the details herself, maybe collect some memories on her phone while she's at it.

Upon their arrival at Luke's home, Maria rushed out the car, grabbing the house keys from Ashton and sprinted towards the elevator. The light brown-haired boy quickly trailing behind her. Maria had her polaroid camera out as well as her phone, prepared to catch whatever scene and moment she may walk into. Unfortunately for her, Maria was met with an empty home.

There was no sign of Luke or Lyla anywhere. Running up the steps where she was met with an empty bedroom. Her brown eyes scanned the area and landed on the slightly open door leading out onto the rooftop. Ashton quickly caught up the girl, panting, out of breath from trying to keep with Maria and her speed.

"Can you maybe, like, slow down?" He breathed, following behind the curly-haired girl as she raced out onto the rooftop. Camera in hand prepared to catch evidence of her best friend with a boy. "Jesus Christ," Ashton sighed, stepping out onto the terrace.

Maria's eyes darted towards the lit fire and two sleeping bodies cuddled together on the small surface of the sofa. Eyes lighting up, quietly jogging towards Lyla and Luke. Snapping a few pictures on her polaroid before switching to the phone. Ashton stood next to the girl; he was surprised to see the blond with the tough exterior look so vulnerable.

"Can I have one of those?" He asked, pointing to one of the four polaroid's in Maria's hand, "And can you send me the photos?" Ashton knew Luke would kill him for having the pictures Maria took. If he could, Luke will do anything in his power to erase the photos from existence. Too bad that Lyla likes it, makes it harder for him to forget about them.

"Of course," Maria said, handing Ashton the photograph. "Aren't they the cutest?" She cooed, examining the new additions to her camera roll.

"Liz is going to love this," Ashton chuckled, "come on, let's go make breakfast." He said, starting his way into the home. Maria turned on her heel and following Ashton into the apartment, she rather not be near Luke and Lyla when either one wakes up. Instead, she'll be waiting in the kitchen with a smug look on her face. Ready to question the pair about their time together.

"When do you think they'll wake up?" Maria asked, "I need to prepare my speech."

"Any minute now," Ashton responded, "Luke's a light sleeper and I reckon Lyla hates the sun." From all the impromptu lunches Ashton has had with Lyla he's a learned a lot about the girl, like how she hates the sunlight for waking her up in the morning. Lucky her, Lyla has front row tickets to the sunrise.

"Well, Lyla's not much of a breakfast person so I doubt she'll be eating." Maria told, "She'll be happy with a packet of m and m's."

"God no," Ashton scoffed, "I'm making bacon and eggs, we're going to sit and eat breakfast like a regular group of friends." He announced, strolling into the open kitchen and getting out everything needed.

"Should I help?" Maria wondered. If Ashton was anything like Lyla it would mean that he prefers to do things on his own when being in the kitchen.

"I appreciate the offer, but I've got this covered." Ashton smiled, cracking the first group of eggs into the bowl. He's a good cook, loves to cook. And the reason why Ashton Irwin is such an amazing cook is that he does it alone, no one nagging or there to mess things up. A perfectionist of sorts.
