I managed to drift in and out of sleep, I could think of nothing except that I was trapped.  My hope was fading.   Was it my fault for dreaming for a life for myself.   I was only grateful it was me and not anyone I loved.   I cringed at the pain I was causing them but I wouldn't trade with any of them.

I got up and shuffled to the bathroom.  As I finished I heard a knock to the door.  As I opened it I saw Pierre.

"We will be landing in an hour" he looked me up and down.  "Make yourself presentable.  There are clothes in the closet" he shut the door and I stood there a little dumbfounded.

I searched the closet and found a beautiful red trouser suit. I pulled this out with a black blouse and kept my black boots. I had a quick wash and changed, brushing my hair I pulled it into a tight bun. I finished with some make up, more than I would normal but it seemed to help for me to hide behind. This room had everything including a choice of three perfumes.

Once changed I took a few breaths and left the room.  Pierre was sat reading some paperwork so I sat opposite.   He ignored my arrival and I took some time to study him.

I had always presumed who he was from reputation and presumptions.  He was 52 but in reality he looked about 40.  He looked after himself and was somewhat handsome but his eyes were almost cut off.  I had never took the time to look at him before, always being a little star struck in his presence before.

He was emotionless and disengaged.  With my training and exposure to dangerous men I can honestly say intimidation didn't phase me but this guy I couldn't read.   Slice I could work an angle with because he liked me, Beast wanted me so there was always a chance to influence them.

Pierre has no interest in me sexually or professionally.   He may have been somewhat interested in me as an artisan but this was a persona not his true self.   I had no way of predicting his actions or finding a weakness.

I was in the most dangerous situation.  I was of no value and as soon as Pierre thought that I would be killed without hesitation.   I needed to make sure I was careful, I needed to stay alive and now I had many reasons for doing this.

"Once we land we will be staying at Palais Coburg Hotel Residenz.  I have a suite arranged and Derek will not leave your side once I am engaged in my meeting.  We will be staying possibly a couple of days" Pierre spoke without even looking up from his paperwork.

I clasped my hands together watching him but his face was one of indifference.

"I haven't decided past a couple of days Pria.   Your dogs are getting too close and you have caused me problems.    I don't wish to kill you Pria but I have to get them off our trail somehow.  I have some options to consider" he said.

"What options?" I whispered.

He suddenly looked up and his eyes were filled with ice.  "No matter how friendly you considered us you will not stop me living the life I want.   I only feel alive when I am with him Pria.  You can understand? Your dogs will do anything to keep you safe" he said his voice dropped with derision.

I swallowed knowing he meant Vlad.  "Then why not exchange me for him" I said wondering where that idea came from.

He considered me closely.  "You may have a thought there" he said.

The pilot announced our landing and he broke our eye contact and put away his paperwork.  Maybe there was a little light now in this considerably bleak tunnel.

Once we landed Derek had grabbed my arm and we were taken to a limo.   We arrived in an underground parking area and then a lift.   It must be a back entrance to the hotel.
