Y/n's pov:After dinner father came up stairs with a letter "Sweet pea someone sent this to you" he chimed and slid the envelope onto my desk.

I picked up the envelope and examined it, my name was in cursive on the front and it was sealed with a red wax. I opened it and all i saw was
"HENRY'S MASQUERADE BALL"
Gosh he was so extra, i giggled as i read down the paper.
"Hello Y/n! You've been invited as VIP to Henry Madison's Masquerade ball, dress pretty and find a mask! Party starts at 6 ends whenever you're tired so get expensive and charm everyone with those pretty peircing eyes Jefferson (ps. If I figure out who you are behind your mask you owe me some of that candy your dad never lets me eat)
-Yours truly Henry Madison

I laughed at the letter and with a eye roll i got up and made my way to my big closet, i opened the closet door and looked through the dresses hanging up. I decided to wear my emerald green dress and some pretty white shoes to go with it. I did my hair in a way I normally dont do it and then I left the house. I had some extra money lying around so i decided to just buy a mask on my way to Henry's home.

I decided to stop at a tiny family owned shop, it didn't look busy and it was just a few minutes from Henry's house which was just great everything was working out for me right now.

I walked into the store, a female was walking around moving stuff around and a boy stood behind the front counter. I looked around the little shop, it was warm and it smelled like cinnamon which was perfect for the fall weather coming around the corner. I kept walking and bumped into the girl walking around the shop she had her name sewn onto her apron, I read her name and guessed that she worked here. I smiled at her "Hey um.." I glanced at her name again "Marie, do you happen to have any mask like for Masquerade balls or something?..." I asked her ..talking to people wasnt my strong suit

She looked at me and nodded "Oh yeah, we have ball accessories at the back wall on the left" she said, her voice took me by surprise a little. It was so smooth and soft like honey, it just added on to the whole atmosphere of the place...I nodded and made my way to the back wall on the left.
As soon as I got there I was hit by the shining light of gold jewelry and pretty hats, lace chokers and hair ribbons hung on jewelry hangers and in drawers there were corsets and more ribbons. I looked down all the way to the last drawer and opened it, multiple mask were lined up on top of each other. I saw a beautiful emerald green mask with white around the eyes and green and blue feathers stuck out from the sides. I picked it up and walked over to the counter to check out my things.

Once I bought my stuff I got into the carriage and made my way to Henry's home.

I has finally gotten to his home, I got out of the carriage and walked up to his front door which was wide open...people were already here I guess. I pulled my mask over my eyes and walked into the house..I looked around the house not really seeing anyone I knew so I decided to just go to the room where everyone else was at. As soon as I walked in a felt a few eyes fall on me, maybe I outdid it with the mask and gown but hey it was a Masquerade ball after all..no one was supposed to know it was me.

I walked deeper into the room looking at everyone dancing with eachother, as I watched the people dance with eachother I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder. I turned around to be faced by a boy in a blue suit and a dark blue velvet coat and a beautiful white mask

"Uhm hey...I just saw you from the corner of my eye and you really caught my attention, uh I was wondering if you wanted to dance?" He asked and smiled a little bit

He sounded familiar, he looked familiar but I couldn't place it, he had his hair tied back and a single curl hung in front of his face I knew I knew him but I wasnt sure where I knew him from

He stuck his hand out to me for me to take, I gently placed my hand in his and he walked me over to the center of the room. I felt him gently place his hand on my waist and him lift up my hand to place it on his shoulder. He looked at me, his big brown eyes stared deep into my
E/c ones.

"How come you haven't spoken to me yet, are you shy?" He asked with a smile on his face

"Oh uh..just don't know what to say" I replied as we swiftly moved around the room, as I stopped talking I felt him jolt away from me a little bit. I didn't know why but he nodded and pulled me closer to him "Well we don't have to talk just dance" he whispered and moved his hand lower down my hip

I smiled a little and kept dancing with him. It felt weird, I knew that I knew him I just didnt know from where or from what.

"Hey, are you in a relationship or anything?" He asked as we danced around the room

"Um no I really don't...I haven't been in a relationship ever since my last boyfriend cheated on me" I replied

"Oh...I'm sorry to hear that, this might make you view me differently but I have hurt a girl like that too...I feel horrible for it and I still love her I just don't know how to make it up to her when she won't let me you know, I miss her so much I write letters to her everyday but I never send them. She wouldnt read them anyway...." he trailed off

I knew it. I knew that I knew him. I looked up at him and lifted his mask slowly "Philip?" I asked as I lifted up his mask, I saw those freckles and immediately knew it was him

"Y/n?" He asked confused. I nodded and lifted my mask up too.
He looked at me shocked and let go of me. As soon as I was about to say something Henry ran up to me and jumped on me
"I knew I was gonna figure out who you were. You just made it too easyyyyyy" he laughed

I looked at him and remembered what he wrote in his letter "Oh..." I laughed a bit and looked back over at Philip

"I knew it was you...I'm sorry for never listening to you and I'm sorry for running from this situation everytime but it just hurt you know?"

Philip nodded "Yeah I know...let's go upstairs maybe your willing to talk about it this time?.."

"Uhm yeah.." I walked past Henry and made my way up to Philip and he escorted me up the stairs. This was time to finally finish this whole thing and let it go
