Jasper's POV

I woke up much later than my usual habit. One week has passed when we got back here from our week vacation in the Maldives. I did not actually expect that it would happen to me. Of all the times, it's exactly a bad timing.

Well, it's my day off so I'll be in charge with our today's brunch, I suppose. Fortunately, my schedule's not that full so I have my whole day to freely waste my time. Meanwhile, I texted Clarisse a late morning greeting, I know she's busy with her manuscript deadline so I don't wanna disturb her too much.

As I was heading at the kitchen I noticed the clouds that had been wispy and white earlier were now darker and denser. It struggled to withstand the burden of the weight which the rain held and soon gave in. The icy grey sky restlessly grumbled as the rain poured down over the city with a roar. The sound of emptiness was disrupted by the loud gregarious boom of thunder.

"Hmm, that was an unexpected greeting for me." I turned to the place where the voice came.

I chuckled staring at her, "You're finally awake, sleepyhead." I said while messing up her hair which made her glared at me.

"Aish! Mind your own hair, not mine!" She exclaimed filled with annoyance.

It took me some time to experiment and mess up our kitchen. Just kidding, I may not be the best chef in town but I'm proud of myself because I can manage to cook. I have actually learned different dishes and specialties way back when I used to travel a lot.

But now I'm ready to proudly share my new specialty to Azalea. A steamy mushroom soup, bitter greens with tomatoes the size of peas, rare roast beef slices as thin as paper, pasta in a green sauce, cheese that melts on your tongue served with sweet blue grapes. And of course, for our beverage, I have prepared a refreshing lemonade for us too.

After I've done my own cool plating, I straightly went to the table to present my amazing specialty. My brunch specialty sailed in on a plate over Azalea's head as if my hands were pure magic.

"Here you go, signora Azalea." She doesn't want to be called 'signora' because based on her it sounded like she's an old, wrinkly woman. I still can't help but laugh at her childish reason.

I sat in front of her as we both prayed together before we started digging in. I licked my yummy fleshy lips, oops drop the yummy word. Then I started tasting the mouth-watering mushroom soup and pasta. On the other hand, Azalea loudly savours the pasta while stuffing her mouth with roast beef.

"So, how's my new specialty, signora? I meant Azalea?"

"Hmm... just fine." She plainly replied

"Huh? 'Just fine'? You almost eat it all up, even the plate?!"

"Fine, fine. It was delicious." She simply rolled her eyes, "But don't make your head bigger, you know that my compliments are very rare. But I enjoyed it." She smiled and stick out her tongue at me.

This pretty childish brat niece of mine hasn't been matured enough. "Oh, glad to hear your 'rare compliments', my lovely niece. Because you've enjoyed my specialty for today. I have a surprise for you."

"Really? Cool! What is it?" Her reaction suddenly changed.

I stood up and went near her as I whispered, "Wash the dishes, signora." A chuckle burst out from me when I saw her pouting while her eyebrows met in the middle.

"That's not cool, Jasper!" She complained.

I just winked at her and went upstairs, heading straight towards my room. I can still hear her complaining like a child. She needs to do some household chores, gotta make her move her lazy-ass, or else she'll end up as a useless signora.
