Chapter 37

-Christmas Day-

"Daddy, Mama, wake up!" Luka yells while jumping on the bed.

"It's Christmas! Wake up, wake up, wake up!" Laela exclaims, joining in.

I open my eyes slowly and smile at them. Luka looks out the window with a confused look on his face.

"Mama, what is that?" He asks pointing out the window.

Last night, we decided to fly into Colorado and we got in early this morning, so the twins were asleep. We wanted to surprise them with snow on Christmas.

"That's snow Luka. We got you guys some warm clothes so you can go play outside in it." I say.

"Can we go outside now?" Laela asks.

"Not right now princess, we gotta eat breakfast first. Plus, wouldn't you guys want to open presents first?" I ask.

"No, this snow looks so much cooler." Luka says with a smile on his face.

"Okay then. Let's let your daddy sleep and go get food." I say.

They nod their heads and run down to the kitchen/dining room of the Airbnb we're staying at. I check on Easton quickly and see he's still sleeping, before going downstairs.

"What do you two want?" I ask.

"Cereal." Luka says.

"Yeah, cereal." Laela says.

I go grab them a box of cereal and pour some into bowls for them and then some milk and hand it to them before giving them spoons.

Once they finish their cereal, I take their bowls in and clean them.

"Ready to go get your clothes on to go outside?" I ask them.

"Yeah!" They say excitedly.

"Alright, follow me." I say.

I take them upstairs to their room and grab our some clothes for them. I pull out a long sleeve white shirt for them both and hand it to them to put on. I grab a white pair of snow pants for Laela and a red pair of snow pants for Luka. They put them on and I go to grab some winter jackets for them. Laela has a light pink one and Luka, a black one.

I make sure all of their stuff is put on right, before having them go downstairs.

I go into our room and put on a yellow hoodie and a pair of black jeans before going downstairs. I grab the snow boots for the twins and a pair of boots for me and put mine on before helping the twins.

"Ready to go outside?" I ask.

Before they answered, they run over to the back door and try to open it. I laugh and walk over to the door to open it. Laela runs outside and Luka jumps into the snow making me laugh. I pull out my phone and take a video of them playing in the snow.

"Mama, this is so cool!" Laela says excitedly.

"It's also really cold." Luka says making me laugh.

"Baby, it has to be cold for there to be snow." I say.

"Oh." He says.

I end the video and caption it "They're first time in the snow and they love it" before posting it on Snapchat. I put my phone in my pocket before grabbing some snow and making it into a ball. I hand it to Laela and she throws it at Luka.

"Ow! Mama, she threw snow at me." Luka whines.

"Then throw some back. It's fine when it's snow." I say making a snowball for him as well.
