Stanley awoke the next morning to an empty bed, which was odd, considering Richie usually woke up a while after Stan, unless he had a nightmare, that is.

He made his way down the stairs, following the sound of music and voices.

"Mom, I can do it by myself!"

"Okay, okay! I'm just trying to help!"

"I can do it-"

"Oh, goodmorning Stan." Maggie smiled as Stan walked into the kitchen. "Happy birthday!"

"Morning Mrs T." Stan smiled back sleepily, running his hand through his disheveled curls.

Maggie walked out of the Kitchen, leaving them both alone.

"You were supposed to stay in bed, y'know." Richie sighed, transferring a waffle from the waffle maker to a plate on the counter. "Thats the whole point of breakfast in bed."

"Aw, i'm sorry." Stan laughed. "Breakfast looks good, though." He yawned, walking over and absentmindedly hugging Richie from behind, watching as he sprinkled chopped strawberries over the waffles. "You'd be a great housewife." He joked.

"Fuck off." Richie chuckled, pushing up his glasses to try and hide his blush.

"Stanley, your mom dropped these off earlier, its your gifts." Mr Tozier said, walking into Richies bedroom, where Stan was brushing a comb through his curls to try and tame them.

"Oh." Stan turned to look at Went, who dropped down two shiny white gift bags with parcels inside. "Thanks."

"Welcome." Went nodded and walked away.

Stan went back to combing his hair, ignoring the bags.

"Aren't ya gonna open 'em?" Richie asked after a while, a little curious.

Stan shrugged. "I mean- I'll admit, i'm a little surprised I even got any, the way I acted last night. Not that it was my fault— my dads a complete dickhead, but still—"

"So.. you're not gonna open 'em?"

Stan shrugged again.

"C'mon, Stanley! Show us wutcha got! Im curious."

"You always are." Stan sighed, picking up the bags and throwing them into the bed.

In the first one, was a few neatly wrapped parcels in blue plain baby blue wrapping paper, some resembling the shape of a book, and others, Stan couldn't really tell.

In the first one was a copy of the Advanced Bird ID Handbook (Richie had snorted at that), to which Stan shrugged, hiding his excitement, and placed beside him on the bed.

"Your parents are so boring." Richie chuckled, flipping through the book.

"This is why I didn't wanna open them in front of you." Stan sighed, chuckling a little as he took the first parcel out of the second bag.

After Stan had opened his gifts, Richie had gotten up and went to his closet. He rummaged around for a while, Stan looking curiously as he pulled out an almost perfectly wrapped rectangular gift, with a few cartoon birds on the wrapping paper.
