The arcade wasn't as packed as it usually was when Stan made the hesitant decision to hang out here occasionally.
Both Stan and Eddie had never really liked hanging out at the arcade, though Eddie was afraid of catching some disease from the 'germ-hole', in his own words, and Stan just didn't like it. The tables were always covered in crumbs and left over pizza, and the buttons for the games were always sticky from either spilled soda or some other nasty shit kids were putting on there.
Stan had never seen why anyone would want to go to an arcade, but then again, he didn't really care to know why either.
"Oh, Hey Stan! What're you doing here?" Bevs voice called from over near the pizza-covered tables.
"Could ask you the same thing, Bev," Stan replied as Bev walked towards him. "Do you work here?"
"Sadly," Bev giggled. "I told you guys the other day when we were all hanging out, didn't I?"
"Oh, uhhh.."
"Yeah, 'cause Bill got a job at the record store, and Ben got a job at the library so i figured I'd get one too-"
"Ben got a job too?" Stan asked.
"Stan, were you even listening when we were hanging out?" Bev chuckled.
"Uhhh.. No.. I was- uh- distracted." Thinking about Richie.
"Ah, Right. Well, anyways, basically my mom had been saving up money for me to go to college before she.. y'know, anyway, and it turns out my dad had been spending it on drugs and alcohol and shit so now i gotta make my own money so my aunt doesn't have to pay for all of it." Bev rambled.
"Oh, thats.. Uh.. honestly I don't know if thats good or bad." Stan laughed nervously. He was really just here to find Richie.
Bev shrugged and smiled. "So, why are you here? From what I recall, You don't like the arcade."
"Uh, just looking for Richie, have you seen him?"
"Yeah, actually," Bev nodded. "He came in here like, three hours ago." She shrugged. "Last i saw him, he was hanging out with some boy he met playing street fighter, i dunno. They snuck through to the theatre to watch a movie, i guess."
"Oh.. so he's..-"
"On a date?" Bev finished for him. "No, I don't think he is." She shrugged. "He only just met the guy."
Stan nodded slowly. "Oh.."
"Why, are you jealous?" She joked, quirking an eyebrow.
"W- Jealous?- Of what? What are talking about?!" Stan stuttered, heat rising in his cheeks. Fuck, does she know? Did Bill tell her? Am I really just that obvious? God, im gonna Murder Bill if he told her!-
"Im joking, Stan! Jesus!" Bev laughed. "With that reaction, You'd think you actually were jealous." She winked.
Stan lightly punched her shoulder. "Shouldn't you be working." He asked, rolling his eyes.
"You're not the boss of me." She laughed again, slowly backing away to clean a table. "Bye Stan!!!!"
Stan sighed quietly, deciding he should just leave and find Richie tomorrow or something, there wasn't really an important reason he wanted to, but it was better than third wheeling around Bill and Eddie.
