The Final Turn

Chapter: 9

Hansoo's smile faded so quick when she realized what she did. Yeonjun was sitting down on the corner of the area with his head down.

"Give me a moment." Hansoo excused herself from Hwasa and Jungkook.

Hansoo walks over to him. "Yeonjun-ah" Hansoo sits in front of him as a warm hug followed her words.

She wrapped her arms around the boy.

It hurts her to see him like this. "I'm sorry on what i said earlier. I just couldn't control my emotions." Hansoo apologizes as she caresses his back. "No, i understand. I understand that i was being too protective over you. I have no rights to do so. From now on, i will let you do anything you want." Yeonjun slides her arms away from him and walked away from her.

Hansoo looks at him as he separates himself from the girl. Yeonjun's face was tired and looks like he's done with everything. His hands in his pocket and his head was down.

It was very unusual to her. He never looked sad or hurt, or maybe he's just good at faking his feelings. A smile is always plastered on his face 24/7 and laughter is always the main thing that slides down his mouth.

Hansoo's heart shattered even more at the thought. The fact that she is the reason on why he feels like this makes her tear up.

Hwasa notices Yeonjun as she follows him. "Hey...are you okay?" She hears Hwasa ask Yeonjun from the other side of the area. Jungkook also notices and walked over to Hansoo.

"What happened?" Jungkook asks and sits down beside her, pulling a few strands of hair behind her ear for a better view of her face.

"I guess my apology didn't work" Hansoo's head drops down causing her hair to fall again. "Why didn't you follow him?" Jungkook asked with sadness on his face.

"He probably wants time alone since he's been taking care of me for a long time now. I just want to give him some space for himself." Hansoo replies as she sniffs. "Are you crying?" Jungkook's eyes sparkled in concern.

"No i'm not" Hansoo replies as she wipes tears off her cheeks. Jungkook decided to not argue with her but just to comfort her. He reached out to hug her as she accepted by putting her arms on his chest.

"Tell me everything" Jungkook breaths in.

"Firstly, Yeonjun and I have been friends even before this outbreak. And since my whole family died, he was the only one that i have by my side. He always took care of me and made sure that i was happy so we don't really talk about my family's death that often. Because since after that, i experienced depression, until now. His smile was my medicine and seeing him frown hurts my soul."

Hansoo released her emotions in Jungkook's chest. "Shh its okay you also have me now." He hugged her even tighter to make her feel like she's not alone.

"I also witnessed my family and friends die...." Jungkook started.

"Mom...don't do it!" The teenager cries out while backing away from his mother with his sister behind him. His mother was infected and is now running towards him to take away his life.

"Don't make me do it please..." Jungkook pleaded, holding his gun close to him, hoping that her mother was still in there, that monstrous form. "MOM!" His little sister runs towards their mother.

"Baby no!" Jungkook attempts to grab his little's sisters arms but unfortunately, their mother got her first.

"NO!" Jungkook's eyes teared up at the sight of his little sister getting eaten by their own mother. He had no choice but to shoot her.

Bang

His hands trembled as the gun drops to the ground. "N-No..." Jungkook shook his head as he approaches their body.

"Ara..." He whisperers as he held his sister in his arms. Her body was missing chunks of muscle and skin which traumatized the teenager. Jungkook chose to close his eyes and just cradle the girl in his arms.

"I'm so sorry...I know what you felt" Hansoo looked up at Jungkook who's eyes was shining with tears. "I also had my brother in my arms when he died." Hansoo releases herself from Jungkook's grip.

"His name was Hobi, he was such a sunshine...he was my hope and happiness...even though he's a jerk sometimes" Hansoo laughs at her memory, causing Jungkook to chuckle.

"You should probably go and talk to Yeonjun now." Jungkook smiles and wipes her tears with his thumb as they lock eyes for a few seconds. Those 3 seconds felt amazing to them, they felt comfortable being with each other.

"Now go" Jungkook tells Hansoo as she stands up.
