"Okay.. see this?.." The woman says as she places Hansoo's finger on the trigger. "That's the trigger." She instructs as the girl nods.

"Okay. Now try to shoot that" The woman points at the shooting target. "It's okay if you can't hit the middle. Just try. No pressure." She smiles.

"I'll t-try" Hansoo holds her rifle close to her.

Don't mess it up don't mess it up She says to herself.

She then focuses on the target not too far in front of her. Hansoo swallows and pulls the trigger. She hits the board, not too far from the center.

"Good Job!" The woman chuckles. "That's not bad for our first day!"

Hansoo nods.

"Okay then i'll see you on Monday!" The teacher smiled as they remove their earmuffs and placed it on the shelf beside them.

The woman leaves as someone enters.

"Hey how'd you do?" Yeonjun pats her back.

"Uh i did okay i guess..." Hansoo replies, exhausted in everything she does. "Oh that's good! You wanna get something to eat?"

She nods.

"Okay then! I'll treat." Yeonjun smiles.

They have been wandering around their neighborhood for a day now. As they were walking, a group of people approached them.

"What are you guys doing out here alone?" A man asks.

"None of your business," Yeonjun answers unhesitatingly. "Do you guys need something? Food? Shelter?" A woman offered.

"No, leave us alone plea-"

"Food. Please." Hansoo speaks up. Yeonjun's eyes widened. Her voice was raspy. She hasn't talked for hours.

"Oh, no problem! Give me a moment." The woman grabbed something out of her bag. "Here." She hands them a couple of canned goods.

"Oh u-um thank you.." Yeonjun bows.

"Anytime! Are you sure you guys are okay being out here all alone?" The woman asks genuinely. The teenagers look at each other. "We'll think about it." Yeonjun answers.

"Okay..take your time! If you do agree, we claimed an area right over there. Just come over." The woman points at a half-closed area not too far away from them.

"Oh okay.."

The group of people left.

"What do you think?" Yeonjun looks at Hansoo who's holding their food supply. "I don't know...I mean we've been looking for shelter for almost 2 days now..." She replies.

"And you're saying?"

"That let's take the umm... o-offer?" Hansoo stutters. "I mean...." He scratches his head. Yeonjun looks at the hopeless girl beside him. He stares at nothingness for a few seconds. Thinking about the right decision.

"Hello? Earth to Yeonjun?" Hansoo waves her hand.

"Oh yeah umm sure!" He snaps back to reality. "So, you agree?" She smiles lightly as the boy nods.

"Great, now let's go? It's getting really cold.." Hansoo said while rubbing her arms to warm herself. Yeonjun just smiles and puts his coat over her.

"I guess we'll stay there for now.."

Present

"Why do you look down? I thought you did well?" Yeonjun asks as they walk towards their 'cafeteria'.

"I don't really know either...I just- you know what? Never mind." Hansoo sighs.

"Hey, it's okay to tell me, let's figure it out together." He pats her back. "Is it about the incident from last year?" He added.

Hansoo nods slowly.

"I understand" Yeonjun hugs his friend. "Thank you Yeonjun...I really appreciate it" She replies and hugs him back.

1 week later

The teenagers were woken up from a very ear-splitting knock. "Wake up! Erica needs to talk to the both of you!" A woman spits out.

"W-What?" Hansoo grunts as she sits up in alert. "Hey, Yeonjun?" She looks over to the other side and sees him stretching out from his sleep. "Yeah?" He replies with a raspy voice. "You heard it right?" Hansoo asked as he nodded.

They stood up and followed the woman who just ruined their sleep. It was 5 in the morning and both of them were not feeling it. They walked through a long corridor of rooms where everybody sleeps and rest.

The mood was oddly eerie. It was weird thinking about what our world has turned into. They also can't believe that kids aged 9-11 needed to know how to handle a gun. It was a devastating thought.

After a while of walking, they finally arrived at Erica's office, the owner & teensleader of this community. The woman knocks as the door opens for them. "Get in" The woman pushes them in.

"Good morning Ms. Erica" The teens bow as she lightly bows back. "Do you know why I called you both here?" Erica sits back at her chair while locking eyes with them. "No Ms." Yeonjun answers as Hansoo nods in agreement.

"Okay look, we lack some suppliers here and we couldn't find anyone who is suitable for this task. You both are the only teenagers left. The rest are either too young and still in training or too old" Erica lays places her hand together.

"But Ms. I'm still training as well. I'm not very good at guns yet." Hansoo gulped. "I know. You'll get used to it. Yeonjun can guide you."

"Right Yeonjun?" She continued as she looks at the boy. "U-Uh yes of course." Yeonjun stutters under her intimidating stare. "Good." Erica smiles, knowing she's in full control.

"We will give you time to practice for this week."
