A few months have gone by. It's finally summer. "Finally, I get to have more fun." I thought to myself. What I didn't know was that my life was about to change forever. When school started up again it was going great until one day I got a call from my friend, Tommy. He told me that Jason was in the hospital. I asked him why and he was like "Remember the machine empire?" and I was like "Yeah, I know that there were some remains of it and that you guys had to destroy the rest of it." Then Tommy was like "Yeah but Jason did the final move. When we got back down to earth he just passed out, he hasn't woken up since then." Then I started to wonder if he was going to be okay. I already lost my great grandfather, I can't imagine losing him. I hung up the phone after that. I prayed every night for Jason to be okay after that. A few months go by and on October 5th he died. After he died Tommy called me. "Hey Tommy, is Jason okay?" I asked. "Ariel." He said. "What happened?" I asked. "I'm sorry, Jason didn't make it." He said. "What?" I asked. I wanted to know if I heard that right. Tommy repeated what he said but this time slower. "Jason...didn't...make...it." Tommy said. I started to cry. I just can't believe that Jason is dead.

The day after he died I was walking around town by myself. I can't handle the pain it had on me. I started to get voices in my head but not just any voice, Jason's voice.

I couldn't take the pain anymore. I thought that Tommy could help me get over this. It's hard on him because he is arranging the funeral for him. He's busy but I go talk to him anyway. "Ariel, if I could have saved him I would." Tommy said.

The next day I was packing up my clothes because I wanted to move out. There were too many things around town that reminded me of Jason. I decided to live with Tommy for a while. After a few days go by I walked around town by myself but this time got flashbacks of everything I did with him around town. I felt like my life was a nightmare from which I can't escape. Everyone seemed to have more fun than me and I felt like nobody cared.

A few more days go by and Tommy and I get into an argument about me going off on my own. I go up to my room and plan to move out on my own ASAP.

I moved out the next day and I ended up going to a group home. The group home I went to was a foster home. A few days go by and I had a paper about an upcoming talent show. I always liked to sing so this might be the time to do it. I pulled out a small tape recorder I had in the room. I managed to pack it along with my clothes. I push the record button and started to sing if only.

While I was singing a boy that lived in the group home came up behind me and picked up the paper. "What's this?" He asked. I pushed the stop button and turned to face him. "It's none of your business." I said. "What, you want to be a singer?" The boy asked with a laugh. "I can tell that you're joking. Maybe people actually want to hear me sing." I said. "When you get up on that stage and look out at the audience you are going to know the truth, you are just like the rest of us, all alone." The boy said. "I didn't want to but you have no idea what I've been through." I said. I didn't mean to say that, it just came out. "I guess I better introduce myself. My name is John, who are you?" He asked. "I'm Ariel, it's nice to meet you." I said with a smile on my face. "It's nice to meet you too." John said. Then he walked out. He didn't even close my door as he left. "I am going to sing in front of the audience, nobody is going to stop me." I said to myself. The next day during lunch John walked up to me with a few of his friends. The reason why he did that was because I really didn't have any friends, not to mention that I recently lost one of my friends that was like family to me. "So John, how did you get into a group home?" I asked. "Well, my parents didn't want me so they just gave me up. How about you?" He asked. "I don't want to talk about it." I said. "Okay, I understand if you don't want to talk about it." John said. I kinda got a crush on him. Later that day John was talking to his friends. "Guys, I think I have a crush on the new girl." John said. "Maybe you should tell her how you feel." Ryan said. "Okay, I'll tell her the next time I see her." John said. "Well, here's your chance." Virginia said. "Hey guys." I said as I walked up to them. "Oh, hi, how are you?" John asked. "Kinda bored. Hey John, can I talk to you for a minute, alone?" I asked. "Um sure, guys can we have some alone time?" John asked. "Sure." His friends said. Then they left. "So John, I want to tell you the reason why I'm here." I said. I told him the whole story. "Oh, Ariel, I'm so sorry for your loss." John said. "It's fine. I just decided that it was time to move on." I said. "Hey Ariel, can I tell you something?" John said. "Yeah, what's up?" I asked. "Well, I told my friends that I have a crush on you and I was wondering, do you have a crush on me?" John asked. "Uh, well." I began when I started to blush and started to act shy. "So, is that a yes?" John asked. "Uh, I guess." I said. I go back to my room and sat down on the bed. "You idiot, why did you say that? You should just be friends with him." I said to myself. A few hours later John was hanging out with me. A few hours later he kissed me. We became boyfriend and girlfriend. Then I went back to my room.
