"Your Ladyship! What must we do! Y-you should prepare my lady."
"..."
"My Lady! Hear Ganna's advice. His Majesty's eunuch has already notified us. The emperor will come here tonight! If they come and see you are not ready yet, His Majesty will undoubtedly—"
"Leave me alone." She interrupted Alvina.
"Lady Ciara, do not be like this. You are making it hard for us."
"His Majesty arrives!" A eunuch announced Emperor Veozar's arrival. The maids panicked whilst Ciara remained unflustered.
A man in heavy black robes walked inside. With his frightening aura, nobody dared to stare at him.
"Greetings to His Majesty." They kneeled as they greeted. Hege looked at Ciara, stunned, before averting her gaze. Her mistress was still reading a book, as if she didn't notice His Majesty's presence. This was a clear indication of atrocity!
They were just waiting for His Majesty to punish them when,
"Rise."
"Yes, Your Majesty." They stood up slowly. To their surprise, the emperor didn't seem to mind when Ciara didn't get up and bow.
"Retreat." Emperor Veozar made a motion with his right hand. They took a smooth flight away. The servants all left the room at the same time.
"What are you reading?"
He walked over to her and sat up beside her. Veozar cocked his head in her direction. "'The Stratagems,' he remarked, his voice full of amusement.
"So you are interested in that kind of thing?"
"..."
"You cannot really speak?"
Ciara held up the book and pointed at a word. Emperor Veoz rapidly understood. He squeezed his eyes focusing on the pointed word. "I?"
Then her forefinger moved into the next word.
"Want?"
"..."
"To...Kill...You." When he finished reading, his smirk deepened. "Oh so apparently, you want to kill me?"
Ciara nodded her head.
"How?"
Her brows knitted as she remained silent.
"When?"
Ciara looked at him and smiled mockingly. She slowly mouthed without a sound, "Now."
In a swift, he pinned her body on the bed. Then captured both of her tiny wrists and restrained them above her head. His other free hand slowly crawled on her delicate waist, tracing her curves upwards. His huge palm stopped just below her ample bosom.
She wriggled out of his embrace, but her physique lacked the power to do so.
He tilted his head as the smirk on his face grew more evident. She fiercely hissed at him and kept lifting her head up in a vain attempt to bite him, but he wouldn't let her reach him. Her sable eyes clearly held contempt towards him. Veozar appeared to not care at all.
