As soon as Betty saw him staring at her while she sat down, she couldn't help but smile and turn red. She had never been noticed by a boy before all of them thought she was to quirky which didn't upset Betty she wanted someone who will except her for her.
The boy wouldn't leave her mind for some reason which was strange she of course wanted to fall in love but she was never that fussed over boys but this one felt different. She went through her day with her dress swaying and her observing the world. Little did she know Jughead was watching her and observing her, he was fascinated by the fact she wasn't uncomfortable walking around with her dress flowing side to side and putting flowers in her hair. He liked that she didn't care what everyone thought it showed she was a free spirit.
At lunch Betty had nowhere to sit she usually sat alone on the grass but it was unfortunately raining. Usually that wouldn't stop Betty but she was instructed to not go outside as she would get muddy but she didn't care. She liked the mud it felt so natural and was good for her skin. So she looked around the cafeteria with her lunch which was vegetarian nuggets and fries with apple pie desert. Betty saw the boy with the hat sat down on his own although she didn't like company while eating and wanted to be with her thoughts she actually wanted to go. She slowly approached the table and he looked up from his food, which was a burger and fries. His food made Betty's nose crinkle up she really didn't like meat.
B-Hi can I sit?
She asked very shyly as she was pretty lacking in the social aspect of life.
J-Yeah sure.
She sat down on the blue seat at the round table.
B-My names Elizabeth Smith.
J-Oh yes the beautiful mystery girl under the tree.
He said, making Betty giggle and blush. Jughead wasn't one to flirt and had never even flirted with a girl before but she obviously like it seen as she giggled.
B-Thank you, what's your name?
Jughead sighed, he didn't want to tell her his name as he hated his name so much and it was just embarrassing even if it was his nickname.
J-Uh it's Jughead.
He whispered hoping she wouldn't hear and wouldn't push.
B-Sorry?
J-Jughead my name is Jughead.
He said and then hid his face in his hands as she giggled, he knew she was going to make fun of him.
B-I love it, it's so different and a little bit weird it suits you.
She smiled, even though she was trying to be nice it kind of hurt Jughead technically getting called weird by her.
J-Uh...thanks.
He said a bit to coldly making her look down at her lap.
B-Sorry I didn't mean to upset you I was just simply saying I liked your name and if it helps I'm a little weird too.
That made him chuckle he didn't feel so weird around her as she herself was a bit strange.
J-It's okay.
He smiled. There was suddenly awkward silence, both of them can't talk to other people 'cause they are just that antisocial.
B-Sorry I haven't really ever spoken to anyone before that isn't my family or a lab partner.
She says, and giggled he smiles at her beautiful giggle and it makes him feel warm inside.
J-You have a pretty giggle.
She tucks a golden strand of hair behind her ear and smiled
B-Thank you Jughead.
At this point her whole face is heating up 'cause of all the compliments. She felt special and excepted that a person, let alone a boy, was paying attention to her. Betty felt less quirky around him, not because of his weirdness but because of him excepting her.
