One month after Betty and Jughead got together everything was going well. Kisses were shared, cuddled were had and even the odd make out session. They were now well and truly in love but they didn't dare say it whcih is strange considering they said they were falling in love the first day they met. That was different though it wasn't a conformation of what they felt, just a speculation. Eventually Jughead was ready he was going to tell her that night he was going to ask her to come to the trailor that day and he was going to tell her. He didn't expect anything to happen after it because Betty said that she wanted to save herself until marriage because she wanted to know for sure that she would never be left by the person who took her innocence. She told him this after he tried to take her shirt off but she stopped him very quickly of course this was awkward for a few days but it was okay in the end.
He goes into the school and looks for Betty she's nowhere to be found. One thing to know about Betty is she never misses school ,education is very important to her and overall she just enjoyed it. He decided to give up his search although glancing around in the corridors between lessons. Still it was no use.
Jughead decided that at the end of the day he was going to go to her house, so as the final bell rang he got out of school and unfolded a piece of paper that had Betty's number and address on it, it read.
"Betty Smith
My number~044679636612
My address-101 Elm Street"
(A/N-Not an actual number! Don't phone it)
Jughead read over the address a few times before starting to walk there. He usually would walk Betty home but only to the end of her street as she didn't want her step-dad to see him. Jughead was a little hurt by the fact she didn't want him to meet her parents or step dad and mom if you're being precise, but he understood why. He felt a little lonely walking along the concrete sidewalk Betty would often point out a bird or a butterfly or anything really she just loved outdoors. He usually wouldn't notice the small details of his surroundings but now she was gone he found himself doing her job and looking at the nature. Smiles appeared on his face as he thought about all the times Betty has pointed out something that made her smile from ear to ear. He felt very excited to see her and hug her and kiss her. He didn't really like the thought stuff until he met Betty. Betty loves cuddles so he had to change his ways.
Soon enough he got to the big red door at the front of Betty's house and rang the doorbell which matched the red of the door. He hummed waiting for someone to open the door and soon Betty opened the door but she looked very different. Betty had her hair up in a messy bun with black leggings on and one of Jughead's plain navy hoodies he'd given to her a week prior. He immediately noticed her outfit she never looked like this, she hated leggings and trousers and she hates having her hair up in a messy bun.
"Woah what's up?" He asked gently and she just looked at him like he was an absolute idiot and slammed the door in his face. The truth is he was an actual idiot, he just didn't know why yet. Jughead felt saddened by the fact his girlfriend hadn't kissed him or hugged him or at least said hello to him, he didn't think he had done anything wrong. He slowly knocked the door again and she opened the door again.
"What's wrong?" He asked a bit more firm than the previous time. "If you don't know then you're a fucking idiot!" She practically shouted so of course he shouted back as anyone would. "Well I don't know so what should I do?!" Betty rolled her eyes and scoffed he swore he saw some tears in them for a minute or two. "You should leave." She whispered a tears spilling from her eye as she looked away from him and to the left.
"What?"
"We need to take a break."
"What like a relationship break?"
She nodded and cried silently choking back a sob. He was so confused they had been doing so well he couldn't possibly think as to why she would want this. He was upset with himself but also with her, he felt like he had been messed around completely.
"Why what have I done?"
"You haven't done anything Jughead, I just something's happened."
"What are you talking about?"
"How do you not know it's been the talk of the town?"
He was now angry at her she was being so vague with him and he felt like she was trying to make him look like an idiot and he was no idiot. "Fine, enjoy you're break!" He huffed and started to walk away when she grabbed his arm softly and turned him around so her hands were careering both his cheeks. He looked into her eyes and saw the sorrow in them he knew she was in pain about something that he'd apparently done. The truth was he hadn't done anything, but something terrible had happened. Betty was slowly being destroyed on the inside but Jughead didn't know that.
"What is it?" He said his voice cracking at the sight of her green eyes crying and the quiver on her pink lips.
"I don't want this to be the end of us okay? Just a short break."
"Whatever."
He sighed, hoping she would have said anything else but that. He didn't want to wait for her, he just wanted to be with her fully and he needs to know where he stands. So he had, had enough he turned around with tears in his ocean eyes not bothering to listen anymore or even let himself be held back by her grasp. He started walking through Riverdale all the noises being drowned out because he was upset and he didn't care what anyone had to say.
Jughead eventually found himself near Sweet water river sitting on the river bank , that was covered leaves that had fallen from the maple trees above. He just sat thinking about himself and what he wanted out of his relationship with Betty. He loved her of course and he did want to be with her long term but he also didn't want to wait till he was married to have sex. Of course there were other reasons that he decided to scribble in the dirt with a twig as well as the pros of their relationship.
"Pros
1) I love her.
2) She's sweet and kind to everyone.
3) She gives the best cuddles and kisses.
4) She's not afraid to be herself.
5) She's funny.
6) She's Betty Cooper.
Cons
1) I won't be able to explore my options.
2) I'll have to wait until I marry her to...
3) She is quite independent.
4) She is sometimes a little awkward.
5) She is to beautiful.
6) She wants to live in a field.
7) She wants a perfect family.
8) I don't want kids.
9) I have lied in the relationship.
10) She wanted a break for no reason."
He knew he was a little harsh but he needed something to distinguish the difference between what's good in the relationship and what's bad. You're probably wondering about these lies. Well one day when Betty and Jughead were in a detailed conversation about their future and Betty started talking about children.
Flashback
"I want lots of children Juggie and we could all live in the cornfield together in a cottage we will build." She giggled while Jughead shifted uncomfortably while she was in his arms causing her to turn her head to him but he just kissed her head to settle her nerves. She was settled and turned her head back to face the edge of the couch in the cramped trailer.
"Do you want children?" She whispered, he cringed at the word children as he didn't want any. He had never had a good example of parents and knew he wouldn't be a good one.
"Yes of course!"
He said because he wanted to stay with her and didn't want to let her down. Of course they were only 17 but they both wanted a future together. She was overjoyed and turned around to kiss him which turned into a make out session.
End of flashback
He was thinking of the memory and wished he hadn't of said he did want children because then maybe he wouldn't have got so deep in.
His thoughts were interrupted by someone sitting down next to him breaking a few twigs. He looked to his side and saw a raven haired princess, he had to admit she was beautiful and he did have a new connection with her as soon as he saw her but not like him and Betty's. The truth was he was in a moment of desperation and despair that's why he was so attracted to her and the same for herself. He noticed her looking at the list he had made for him and Betty but what he didn't notice was her taking a quick picture of the pros and cons.
"Relationship troubles?"
"You could say that."
"So you and Betty aren't having sex?"
He chuckled at her bluntness and looked down at his hands that were placed in his lap.
"Yeah."
He sighed. Veronica looked at him sympathetically and caressed his cheek turning his head to face him. She slowly leaned into his lips and kissed him and he kissed back.
Did they like each other? No.
Did they want each other? No.
Did they need each other? Yes they needed each other in a time of desperation and comfort.
It wasn't like Betty and Jughead or Veronica mad Nick they didn't love each other like that it was just lust. Soon it would bring complete regret.
"I need you."
"I need you too baby girl."
He whispered as she dragged him back to the Pembroke which was conveniently in front of Sweetwater river. They went into Veronica's bedroom and one thing lead to another and well they had sex.

A/N: LOL Jughead pulled a Ross.
