B-Juggie!

Betty sobbed over the phone. It had been only 20 minutes since she had seen Jughead but when she found her fiancé lying,naked, on Valerie Brown she needed him no one else him. Betty was so upset and heart broken. She couldn't stay in her lovely cottage because Reggie had been in there and she hated that.

J-What baby what is it?

He said as he heard he fragile and croaking voice over the phone. He called her 'baby' it was so comforting and she liked it.

She started to explain the situation and Jughead consoled her throughout, soon she was in her car with hers and Milly's things in the back. Millie was still in school so someone was going to pick her up later. Jughead went home early and got a substitutes for all of Betty's classes.

As soon as she arrived she fell into Jughead's while sobbing and screaming. Jughead carried her to the couch and he sat her on his lap while touching her hair and shushing her.

J-What do you wanna do Betts?

B-I wanna sleep please can you go and collect Millie. Please.

She quietly whispered. She was drained and upset, she just wanted this all to be over.

Her dress was blue which meant she was sad but she wasn't leggings sad. Which is weird considering she was legging sad when Jughead cheated on her.

Jughead showed her the guest room which was painted a light yellow with many pictures of sunflowers on the walls. The bedsheets were just plain white with yellow pillows. Betty liked it, it was bright and any other day she would gush over the thing. But of course it was a bad day so she didn't.

B-I really appreciate this Jug, thank you.

She smiled and hugged him. He breathed in her scent she smelled just like she did in high school it was extremely comfortable. After the hug Jughead left Betty to sleep and went to pick up Millie.

M-Juggie!

Millie screamed, jumping into his arms. He giggled and picked up the girl taking her school bag on his back. He held her on his hip while she rested her head on his shoulder. Jughead often would pick up Millie as Betty was working and Reggie just didn't like her very much. Jughead didn't understand how Reggie didn't love the little girl she was so sweet and innocent. She always had her hair in pigtails and had a cute smile ,showing her missing two front teeth, she also had dimples. Millie was the most adorable five year old you could ever see and if Jughead was honest she changed his mind about having kids.

M-Where's mommy?

J-Betty?

M-Mommy! Where is she?

Jughead decided not to say anything about her calling Betty that. She was a little girl who didn't know her mother or her father. It was really sad what happened to Alice especially the fact she was put in a mental institution a week prior due to her trying to jump in front of a car. Betty already expected it and knew she had to step up as a mother to Millie. Seen as Christopher also just completely disappeared. It was tough for Betty but she was strong and had many people to help her.

J-She's at my home sweetie. I have some bad news.

M-No what happened?

Millie dramatically said while gasping making Jughead chuckle.

J-Mommy and Reggie aren't together anymore.

M-Oh okay.

She mumbled, like it didn't mean anything. Jughead decided to ask her why she was so unbothered by this.

J-Why don't you like Reggie.

M-I'm not supposed to tell anyone.

J-You can trust me sweetie.

He said as he buckled her into the car seat. He wanted to find out if Reggie had hurt her or hurt Betty.

M-He kissed Miss. Brown when he was looking after me and then said if I told anyone he would hurt my mommy.

J-By 'my mommy' you mean Betty.

M-Of course who else? Does she not want to be my mommy?

J-Of course she does.

He smiled and then kissed her head. Inside though he was fuming someone had threatened his...the girls and that made him want to kill somebody. But obviously he couldn't as he had a 5 year old with him.

M-Where's mommy?

Millie clapped as she walked through the door. Jughead took her to Betty's room assuming that she would be okay with Millie being in there. Millie being a five year old started jumping on the bed and singing a song to get Betty up. Betty turned around from her sleeping and you could see her tear stained face and mop of blonde hair. She sat up and Millie straddled her lap and hugged her.

M-I'm sorry about Mr. Reggie mommy.

B-It's okay honey.

Betty whispered as she played with her sisters hair. Millie started trying to cheer Betty up by singing and making silly faces which made Betty giggle. Jughead just leaned on the door frame and watched them both,he smiled at them. They were both so wonderful together and Jughead admires their bond. They were like two pees in a pod but so was Jughead so they were like 3 pees in a pod. He decided to run over and tickle them both until they were begging him to stop.

This moment was small but ever so crucial in their little family. They were all happy and forgetting about everything for that moment and it was beautiful.
