Okay, folks, here it is!!! The next issue to the chronicles of Jamie! I'm sorry if this chapter bores you a bit, but it is necessary to the story.
I don't know for sure when the next chapter will be posted, but don't worry, it shouldn't take too long now.

“Where did you learn to cook like this? It is amazing!” Rita said to my mother as we sat down for dinner. My mother’s famous chicken was piled on a plate in the middle of the table, surrounded by green bean casserole, cheesy potatoes, and garlic bread.
My mom laughed. “My mother is a cook. She taught me how to cook.”
Rita looked at me. “Surely, Jamie, you can cook as good as your mother can,” she said smiling.
I laughed. “Nope. I destroy anything I touch. I can’t cook at all.”
Everyone laughed. Adrian looked at me, smiling, from next to me and my stomach fluttered violently.
I looked away smiling, trying to hide my blush.
“So Adrian,” my dad said, “how is your car coming along?”
“It’s going great. Jamie’s been helping me work on it and with her help it’ll be up and ready to drive in no time,” Adrian said excitedly. He loved that car.
“How has school been going, kids?” my mother asked.
“Boring as usual. Me and Adrian are working on a paper in English.”
And we talked for a bit during dinner about school and cars. Then the parents got into a discussion about politics that Adrian and I tried our hardest to ignore.
When dinner was over, and we had finished my mom’s famous cheese cake, I walked Rita and Adrian to the door.
“Thank you so much for having us, your mother is an amazing cook!” Rita gushed to me before heading to her house.
Then it was just me and Adrian.
I could feel him wanting to talk about it…
“Listen, I’ll tell them tonight, alright? But I want to tell them alone. I want to break to them by myself.”
Adrian sighed. “Fine.” I could tell he was a bit disappointed, but he didn’t understand. I was about to tell my parents that I was dating Adrian. I didn’t want to go through the entire lecture about Jake and therapy and depression and everything else with Adrian right there witnessing it. I knew this was something I had to do alone, whether or not Adrian liked it.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” Adrian said and kissed me gently on the lips goodnight.
I smiled and went back in the house. My mom and dad were both sitting on the couch, cuddled up to one another. I smiled. After almost twenty years of marriage, they were still as in love as the day they married. I wanted to have a love like that. I frowned, thinking of Jake. Then I felt guilty for thinking of Jake and not Adrian.
I walked forward. “Hey, mom, dad. I kind of need to talk to you,” I said hesitantly.
They both looked at me in concern. “Oh God,” mom said, groaning. “You’re pregnant aren’t you?”
I couldn’t tell if she was joking so I exclaimed, “No, mom!”
She sighed a sigh of relief. “Good. Now that that’s been cleared, what would you like to talk to us about, sweetheart?”
