Chapter 11: Sundress

Asmy

~~~
Put your thumb across my mouth
Ooh that's what you want
I nod my head you tell me say it then you grab my throat
Ooh that's what you want
You tell me say it
That's what you want
"Timore," I call out as I arrived home.
It was well past noon when I woke up in bed. To my surprise, he was sleeping on the recliner chair in the living room. Even drunk he was a total gentleman. Without even thinking I had put a blanket over him and leaned in to give him a peck on the forehead.
Why did I do that?
"Asmy?" Timore manifests in front of me as the vile creature rather than her human form.
"Inform Mammon that I will be feeding tonight in his club," I tell her and head to my bed.
With a groan, I plop onto the soft cushion as I can feel my body reacting poorly to last night's affairs.
Stupid mortal body.
I roll over to my back and my mind can't help but recall last night's conversations. Even after being openly vulnerable, Axel didn't pry into my life. He allowed me to choose what I wanted to reveal without even pushing further for answers.
My eyes were starting to feel heavy with sleep as the busy streets of New York lulled me to sleep. With a sigh I let my body relax and give in to the slumber. The last thing on my mind...
I don't want to be who I am.
The cool breeze of dawn prickled my body. All the other kids were sleeping but it was my turn to get milk. But I was ok with that. I liked being able to see the animals.
I stomped my way through the tall grass, my boots getting caught in the mud at times. The fresh smell of rain surrounded me, as the last bit of droplets ceased to pour out of the sky.
In the distance, I could hear the cockodoodles waking up the surrounding animals as the farm came to life.
Finally reaching the farm stalls I put my rusty bucket down and grabbed my curls.
Sister Clare always got upset with my curls and if she finds one in the milk I will surely get punished. Once my hair was out of my way I proceeded to grab the bucket and open the stalls.
I quickly spotted out our big brown cow and smiled.
"Good morning Annie!"
The cow mooed at me is it swished its tail.
"I hope you don't mind me getting some milk." I sat down by her udders putting the bucket below the teats.
The morning slowly passed by as I got milk for the orphanage. I made small talk with Annie and the rest of the animals there.
