There was no way for me to keep that much of the chocolate, so I ate as much as I could but not to the point that I'd get sick. I kept a handful in my back pocket, just in case they came in handy.

True to her promise, April managed to charm the guards without showing her face. When we were finally at our destination, I had this weird feeling. Not fear or nervousness, just...excitement and thrill.

What came afterwards though was not planned at all. When we reached the back door of the area, suddenly I could feel the presence of multiple people in formation beyond the door.

I don't know which one in our team is the mole but the people there were definitely expecting us. This wasn't how we planned it; there wasn't supposed to be an ambush. One good thing though is that they haven't spotted us yet and before Danny or April could touch the door handle, I blocked both of their hands and mouthed, 'Danger. They know.'  The frightened look on April's face triggered the once more burning excitement I was feeling.

The first one to make a move was Danny. His eyes glowed emeral green and his skin pores started emitting green-coloured gas, and I assumed it was poison. I grabbed April and flipped her so that I could carry her like a sack. She protested at first but she had no choice, after all, Danny's poison will probably harm her more than necessary. I activated my powers and dropped her near the vehicle we used, which was pretty far from the back door.

"Stay put and don't go anywhere unless this area becomes dangerous for you, alright?" I warned her before leaving to go back to where Danny is.

I was able to go back without any trouble and the poison Danny released has probably started seeping through the door. Luckily, I am immune to poison. Look, what can I say, match-made in Heaven, right?

I turned to look at Danny and nodded at his direction, signaling for this impromptu plan to start. Once he gave me a nod back, both our eyes glowed and we both leaped into action. I leaped into action and kicked the door open.

It seems that even though they were expecting us, I could still smell the fear from these people. I'm guessing there was a delay in action due to their surprise, I'm glad this last second change helped.

I jumped towards the nearest person from their group and stole his gun and dagger. Their group started shooting at us and I was able to miss all the bullets being shot at me, thanks to my incredibly fast reflexes. With Danny, I wasn't exactly sure what type of poison he released into the air but I seeing as how there is no door coming in between them and him, it sure spread fast into the air. Thanks to the coloured gas, they were not able to shoot directly at him and I think the poison was getting to them. I lunged at the other nearby enemies to disarm them and hit the respective nerves to knock them out.

Once we were certain there were no more enemies conscious, we continued to fulfill the objectives of our previous plan. One thing I wasn't really prepared for was a sniper. I was able to hear the bullet and if it was directed to me, I would have been able to dodge it. But it wasn't me who he was aiming for. It was Danny and the bullet penetrated his shoulder. He cried in pain as soon as it hit and lost his balance. I quickly ran towards him to support him and finally spotted the sniper. I am uncertain as to whether our eyes locked or not but I definitely saw him flinch. I moved Danny to a hidden blind spot and told him, "I'll handle this."

Anger suddenly controlled my whole body and even though Danny tried to stop me as much as he could, in his current state, he would  never even have been able to make me pause even for a second longer.

I ran four times faster than the average human could and because I was agile, he was not able to shoot at me. I ran up to the wall and with my crazy speed, I was able to ran ON the wall leading up to the higher elevated level the sniper was on. I grabbed the muzzle of the gun with my bare hand and threw it towards the ground. I used my other hand to enter the elevated level window and leaped towards the enemy. His eyes met mine and his fear reflected on his eyes. I strangled him and he continued to uselessly struggle. Tears flowed from his eyes and he was gasping for breath, producing incoherent words.

But my anger got the best of me. Then it happened. A strange sensation bursted within me. This sudden act of forward violence stirred up feelings I haven't felt in such a long time.  In his helpless state, various emotions were being protrayed in his facial expressions.

"GHOST, PLEASE STOP! I'M BEGGING YOU, DON'T KILL THE MAN!" Danny exclaimed as he was moving towards the area where the sniper and I were. But it was no use, for the man was already dead.

I released my hold on him and crashed on the floor next to his motionless body. I could hear Danny's footsteps moving towards me. When he reached the top of the stairs, he glanced at the body then looked at me with eyes of pity. He ran towards me and hugged me, even though I know that in doing so, it hurt his injured shoulder.

He was silent for a while before muttering, "You shouldn't have done this. I'm sorry, Ka--I mean Ghost. Oh gosh, I'm so emotional right now. I was the only one who was meant to kill people tonight. I'm sorry that you're going to have to go through this. I'm sure he was a bad person. Don't take this to heart."

He was trying to sound reassuring but his shaking hands on my back and the breathless pants he was making were enough to tell me that he is scared for me. He's probably afraid that whatever happened to Rui Amane might also happen to me. After all, this was an unplanned kill.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that I don't feel guilty at all. Maybe I should feel guilty that I don't have any sort of remorse for this dead man who probably had a family he was supporting. But there was no stopping it already because once you've had your first kill, the next ones would probably feel easier to do.

Wrong. This is wrong. I thought I was getting better. I should realign my focus for now. "Let's continue the mission. Charm is waiting," I managed to whisper back.
