Hating Mondays

Chapter eight

STEPHANIES POV

I went home and I put down my bag . I walked up stairs and noticed something was different and it was irritating me cause it was so damn unusual . I just couldn't put my finger on - Wait , did I just pass by my DAD ? What the fuck ? What happened to his hair ?

" Hey Hun ! " he said with enthusiasm as he turned around revealing his nicely shaved face .

I hugged him and said " Dad ! Your hair ! Oh my ! Umm do I smell cheap Axe Body Spray ? "

" Yeah ... Your friend stopped by and told me to do all of this . But there's more surprises left ! "

" Okay ! Oh my god ! I gotta go call him ! "

I ran upstairs and called the contact saved on my phone that read " Jake The Dog " within the third ring , he picked up and this is what happened .

Me : ** squealing ** Oh my Jesus ! How'd you get dad to do that ! I can't even talk right now !

Jake : but I -

Me : you're the best ! Just today I was talking about all the stress I have going on and I come home to find this !!!

Jake : Umm ... Steph ! Chill ! I have no idea what you're talking about ! I didn't do anything !

Me : ** calming down ** But ... But ... I don't understand ! Who would - ohh ... I think I got it now .

I hung up the phone and searched for the contact " Nate The Dick " and called him . He didn't pick up . That was strange . He always picks up my phone calls .

A few moments later , I got a call from Mom ! She asked me how I was and I freaked out and almost died in my room of excitement . It was like fate suddenly changed .

NATES POV

I got off my bike , put it in the school parking lot and just sat on the swings for some time . While thinking , I got a phone call from Stephanie . I didn't answer it for the first time cause she said she wanted to never hear of me . It was all going well until today . It's like fate suddenly changed for me .

** Monday **

Stephanie's pov

Well I walked in and saw Nate leaning on his locker , gazing at the floor and Michelle passed by him and slapped him again . They had a fight but he just ignored her . He went towards the stage that we use for special programs . It was empty .

I followed him and saw him grabbing a guitar and just playing random notes on it . I walked up to him slowly and he didn't even know I was there . He was playing the keys to Summertime Sadness . The way he played it was so flawless . Then , I realized maybe I might've been to harsh on him . While he played the notes , I joined in .

" Kiss me hard before you go , summertime sadness "

He stopped and looked at me and didn't talk . He started shivering as the cold breeze blew . I took off his jacket from my shoulders and put it on top of his shoulders .

" I'm sorry " I said .

He took off the jacket and walked away without saying a word .

Mondays suck .

" I said I'm sorry ! I mean it . " I said as I chased him .

He paced around trying to ignore me and I kept saying those two words " I'm sorry " and finally , he looked at me and said :

" You could've just said you don't like me ! You know I'm trying to help you and you won't believe me and I found that paper plane and everything just needed to change . I did it so YOU could be happy . And since you want me out of your life , I tried ignoring you . Even if I didn't want it . I tried forgetting you but all I could think of we're those perky freckles on your perfect cheeks and the way you smiled with your blue braces and your cute dimples . And all I could think of was wanting to kiss you . "

I took a step forward and said " Then do it "

He grabbed my face by two hands and kissed me .

" But just because you kissed me doesn't mean we are dating . " I said.

" Just one date . "

" no ."

" C'mon . It'd mean the world to me ! "

" Okay " I said and now , our date is on the up coming Saturday .

Just then Jake appeared and hugged Nate . Nate smiled at him and said " Yo man I'm sorry ! "

" It's okay bro " Jake said .

Jake acted cool . It was as if Jake was Gale . How he knows he loves Katniss but hides it in front of others .

" What's goin on here anyways ? You guys official ? " he asked

" No " I said and at the same time Nate said " Yes . "

Jake was confused and Nate said " Yes we are . " as he smirked a bit .

" See you on Saturday ! " he said and he left

I got a call and Jake followed me to answer it . " Hey sweetheart " said the voice

" mom ? " I asked

" you guessed it my babe ! I have a surprise for you ! Pack your bags cause you're gonna stay with me ! Your dad's and your flight is on Saturday. Okay! oops ! Gotta go ! Luv ya ! Bye !"

" Mom ! But I - " and she hung up the phone ! I glared at Jake and made a disappointed face at myself .

Now I officially hate Mondays !!
