Chapter 10

Stephanies pov

Now I got ACTUAL friends . My two best friends are Jenni ... Jenifer and of course , Alex

They know everything about me inside and out . They know my past .

I wont forget them . I wrote this in my journal after weeping on that phone call to Jake .

I just write and write and write all day on the diary . Then the rest of the gaps in the days would be filled with listening to the constant beeps coming from the hospital machines . I forgot to tell you . I have been diagnosed with an undiscovered disease . My mom , my dad and my family all have their own health issue . I thought i was the only healthy one but it turns out , the diseases tranferred from my mom and dad merged and cause a new disease . Interviewers stop by now and then . They all ask the same question : What are you going to do now ? and my answer is always : Now I am going to wait for death or take life as it comes .

If i talk too much , i begin to cough blood out . So i need to keep quiet . They put the pipes up my nose and everything and i look terrible . Jenni and Alex usually drop by for comfort . Jenni and Alex are a couple that i set up . Alex is actually Alexander and he has stood up for me since day one when i fell off the bus .

They sit there and comb my hair , make me laugh , feed me just like parents would do . A week later , my voice gets better and I am allowed to speak again . During a boring day , the door opened and a man came inside .

" Jake ! " I exclaimed and he hugged me real tight .

" Stephanie im sorry we are late . But - " he said as i cut him off

" We? Who else ? " i asked

" Me " Nate said as he walked in

" You came too ? So you can rub it in my face ? So you can bully me again ? So you can treat my love like a piece of shit ? " i asked

" I came to say sorry . "

" A couple hundred kilometers to say sorry ? " i asked

" No ... A couple hundred miles ... for a kiss . " He said and he leaned towards me and in a low voice whispered " Sorry Stephanie Grace ... but I still love you . " and he stared in my eyes and two seconds away from the perfect kiss ... the door opens and Alex walks in and he freaks out . He grabs Nate like a flying piece of paper and smashes him against a wall and says " Sir ! What do you think you are doing ? "

" Noo !!! " i scream and say " Alex ! Stop it ! "

Jake gets up and tries to break up the two but ends up getting pushed to the floor instantly and blacks out .

Nate gets punched twice and then security comes in and it all goes down hill .

I explain that those were my friends and Alex says " I was just trying to protect you ... Sorry . "

"Its okay " I replied .

He picks up Nate and dusts him off and puts him back on his feet and says " sorry little guy "

I ask for a first aid kit and tell Nate to sit down and I slowly dabbed the cotton on his wound and said

" Youre and idiot . "

" I know . " he said

" How come i can never kiss you ? " he added

" Now ? " i offered

" Now " He agreed and slowly leaned in and suddenly backed away . " Privacy is important " he said .

He winked , said " Tomorrow " and left with Jake .

Alex said " Woah "

Nates Pov

It was the perfect moment for a kiss but then a gigantic guy grabbed me and threw me at the wall . We was 6ft 5 and I was 5ft 11 ... It sucked

I knew that when Jake went down ... I was gonna be broken like a toothpick ... Thank God for security !!

I got the moment at last but I had a plan . It was going to be perfect ! Jake and I were staying at Uncle Tom's house . He is gone on vacation and i knew where he hid the second key and so the whole mansion/house is practically empty . Thats it . Thats where we will have our first date . That is where we will have our special kiss . Genuis ! Now i just gotta ask Jake for help .

"Jake ! I gotta tell you ! I got this brilliant plan ! " I said as i ran towards him trying to stop his from walking too fast .

" What is it ? " He asked as he slowed down .

I explained everything and he looked at me and raised a brow .

" Dude we are eighteen ! " He said .

" Thats my point . We are eighteen and close enough to being nineteen . My birthday is in a month . 11th graders ! and we have the chance ! Cmon ! Its not a bad thing ... " I said

" Okay okay ... " He said as he softened a bit .

Then ... we only slept at 3am . We worked the whole night on baking . There is a reason why men dont cook . Now ... for the date .
