(Zayn’s POV)
I stormed through the glass doors of the tall black marble building with Harry and Niall behind me. They tried to talk me out of this during the whole car ride, but they, of all people, should know there’s no talking me out of anything. I went straight to the front desk, looking the blonde, tired looking woman.
“Stanley here?”
She smiled at me, moving her hair off her shoulders and folding her hands on the desk, “And what business do you have with him so early in the morning?” I glanced down at my watch, not realizing it was nearly six in the morning. My eyes move back to the blonde to find her still peering at me with a large white smile. I’ve never seen her before, so she must be new or something, which means she’s probably scared to fuck anything up.
I looked through the doors behind the desk, towards the elevator, narrowing my eyes at the armed guards ruining my chances of making a run for Stanley’s office. Looks like I’ll have to charm my way through this…
“Is this your first day?” I asked. She nodded in response. “I’m Zayn. I drift, and these are my mates Niall and Harry.” I gestured to them, giving a discrete nod for them to come further into her view. “We just want to go up and talk to Stanley.”
“I’m sorry, but he’s not taking any unscheduled visits today.”
I glanced at Harry before looking back to the blonde. “What’s your name, Love?”
“Annie,” she stated trying to hide her blush. I’m not sure why she was blushing; I haven’t even done anything yet…
“Annie,” I said, leaning over the desk. “I really need to speak to Stanley. It’s important, yeah?” I leaned closer so my face was only inches from hers. She parted her lips as she locked her blue eyes onto mine. “I just need you to get the guards there to let us on the lift, that’s all.”
“I…I don’t know if I’m allowed—”
I tilted my head to the side a little, pouting a little. “You think you can make an exception for us, Annie?” She hesitated and I discretely rolled my eyes. She obviously wants to do it, but she’s just being difficult. “Listen Annie,” I mumbled, walking around the desk standing in front of her. I leaned down to her level, as before, and whispered in her ear, “We can do this the easy way, or the hard way.”
I rested my hand on the inside of her too thin thigh, slipping my fingertips under her skirt as caressed her smooth skin. She drew in a breath, spreading her legs a little. “So which is it Annie?” I whispered, my lips brushing against her ear. “Easy way or the hard way?”
“I…”
“The hard way will involve me getting angry, Annie. And it would be in your better interest not to get me angry…” I decided to take advantage of the fact that her legs were spread and started to creep my hand up. “So Annie? Which is it?” I nibbled on her earlobe and she gasped quietly, before jolting forward and grabbing a walkie-talkie off her desk.
“Please let these lads in the lift!” She breathed, almost shouting. I had to hold back a laugh as I stood up straighter.
“You’re a doll Annie.” She blushed, with a huge grin on her face. I winked and rushed the boys through the door and towards the lift.
“Al’s going to kill you…” Niall said disapprovingly.
“Shut up. I didn't do anything”
Harry snorted, “Yeah, good luck explaining that to Al.”
“Shut up.” I groaned, knowing they were right. We walked past the guards and onto the lift, letting out a relieved breath when they didn’t say anything to us. Anger was starting to build up in me again at the thought of Freddie near Al…and with a gun. He’s probably manipulating her, or trying to get her close, waiting for the right time to turn on her when she least expects it. He’s probably leading her into some kind of trap.
