(Al’s POV)

Aubri and Cop stayed motionless during the drive back home. I’d convinced Bob and Luke, one of the boys’ random friends, to drive us back home. Thank God Luke was one of the medical aids that assist at the fights, he said he’d have a better look at the girls when we were in the light at home. Lyn was still hysterical, seeming as though she was having a panic attack as she held Cop in her lap.

Everything had gone wrong tonight, from the second we walked into that party. We’d lost Aubri in a matter of five seconds, I had to fight a guy off Baz, Cop dropped to the floor after her third trip to the bathroom, and as I was trying to revive her, Lyn came running up to me screaming that Aubri had passed out too. I knew I shouldn’t have forced them out when they obviously didn’t want to. I knew it. Way to go, Al. You just killed two of your best friends. Way to fucking go.

“Which house is it?” Bob asked.

“It’s four from the corner.” Baz said, “Right here.” Bob pulled into the driveway, parking the car and looking around at the three of us that were still conscious.

“I’ve got Aubri and Luke has Cop.” I nodded then looked down at Aubri, lying in my lap, as Bob and Luke got out of the car. Her eyeliner was streaming down her face, and her hair was a mess, damp with sweat. What happened to her while she was separated from us? Bob opened the back door and lifted Aubri out of my lap, and walked her up the front steps with Luke, Lyn, Baz and I following behind him. I opened the door quickly, everyone flooded in, and I led Bob and Luke into Aubri’s room.

Aubri and Cop were placed on the bed before Luke started examining them. “Do you know what they took?”

“Took? What do you mean ‘took’?” I questioned, panicked.

“Aubri said she had ecstasy…and she drank basically a whole bottle of vodka in front of me.” Bob said. “Then she kept going on about everyone leaving her, and that I should let her die.”

“Die?!”

Luke shook his head, “She’s not going to die; she’s just fucked out of her mind. She’ll probably be passed out for a bit if she drank all that alcohol mixed with the ecstasy. Do you know how much she took?” Bob shook his head. “What about Cop?”

“I didn’t even know they had ecstasy!” I shouted. I was supposed to be the mum…and look what the fuck I’ve done. I’ve gone and let two of my kids overdose and drink themselves into comas. Great fucking job. Harry’s gonna—shit! “You can’t tell Harry!”

Bob raised an eyebrow at me, “And why not? Harryy should know his girlfriend is half dead!”

“She’s not half dead! Luke just said so! You can’t tell Niall either!”

“Why?!”

“Because the only reason they were sent up there is to detach them from us!” I blurted out. “They were told that we were distractions and they’re going to keep them up there until they forget about us! If you tell Harry, he’s going to flip out and come down here, getting all ten of us killed!” I looked at Baz and Lyn standing across the room, looking on as our friends lay sprawled across the bed. They were already informed of the information I just blurted out— even Bob and Luke probably already knew since they are in the stupid club. I have no idea if Cop and Aubri are aware, but it’s actually for the better than the boys are gone. It’s better that they just do what they’re told instead of drawing attention to themselves—because attention is never a good thing in terms of drifting and fighting.

“I already told Niall though…” Luke said.

“Shit, Luke! Do you realize—” My phone rang in my pocket, and I already had a good idea who it was before I even looked at it. “Goddamn it.” I said looking up at the ceiling.
