Chapter 4: Welcome To HERO

"That's all I knew before Slay came and saved me." Milley explained to both Slade and Slash.

They were all in a medical room, where patients rest after being treated. In the room were Milley, Slay, Slade, Slash and Zai. Milley was resting in the bed after having her injuries treated. Both Slay and Zai stood beside each other on the left side of the bed, as Slade and Slash stood near the door of the room.

"I see..." Slade said as he held his chin, head down as he was in thought. He then looked up at the fox as he let go of his chin. "Seems like Eggman knew there was an emerald there. Good thing you got it, otherwise Eggman would've had one over us." He said as he grinned a bit. "But I don't want anyone to get injured because of something like this again."

Milley nodded, understanding as she looked back at him. "It won't happen again." She said as she gave a small thumbs up. "I'm just glad I was able to help." She added.

Everyone in the room smiled or grinned at her words, Slade nodding back in response. "Good to hear." He said before turning his back to walk out the room. "Me and Slash will have to talk about what happened today and what to do going forward." He said as both him and Slash left the room, door closing behind them.

Before they could even say anything next, the door slid open again. Walking in was a female mobian badger, dressed in a white coat and attire underneath. That included a simple white white shirt, black pants and some slip-on shoes. She had mostly black fur that would fade into either purple or white, and her purple that covered a majority of her face. She bared a short tail from behind and black stripes under her eyes on her tan muzzle.

As she walked in, she would stop at the right side of the bed with a clipboard in hand. She looked at it for a few moments before looking up to see the fox. "So, how are you feeling Milley?" She asked in a gentle tone.

Milley glanced down at herself and then up at the badger. "I'm doing much better." She answered as she smiled, getting one out of both Slay and Zai who watched from the side.

"Good, good." The badger said as she would look at the clipboard. After flipping through a few pages, she would jolt down some notes before looking up and over at her again. "You should be good to go. Just let them know whenever you're ready."

"Huh?" Milley asked before looking over at both Slay and Zai.

"Oh yeah." Slay began as he rubbed the back of his quills. "We're supposed to take you back to where you want to be dropped off at once you're done here." He explained as he chuckled slightly, Zai shaking her head as she tried to hold back a laugh.

Around this point, the badger walked up to Slay while being unnoticed. Once she was in range, she took the more rounded end of the pen and pressed it into Slay's side. This made him jump a bit, moving away as he rubbed said area that was poked. Both Zai and Milley watched, both trying to hold back their laughter.

"What was that for!?" Slay asked as he looked up at the badger as he continued rubbing the area. "I told you I wasn't injured or anything like that Myra." He muttered.

Myra, the badger, laughed a bit before writing on her clipboard. "Just wanted to check and make sure of something." She explained before writing on the clipboard as before looking up at the small group.

Slay scoffed as he rolled his eyes. "I'm fine though." He said as he calmed down, as everyone else began to calm down as well.

"Again, just making sure." Myra said as she held the board next to her side. "Just don't come crying to me when you're hurt or something from all this." She joked as she began to walk out of the room. "I'll make sure they're informed at the front desk. I'll see you later." She said, leaving them as the door slid close behind her.

It was quiet for a moment before Zai hummed a bit. "Well, I might as well get going." She said as she walked to the door. Both Slay and Milley watched her as the door opened up for her. "Gotta make sure the plane's in peak condition." She grinned as she too left, door closing behind her.
