After making it to the train station on the lone island, the two boarded the next train that pulled in. Once they did, the doors closed and the SkyTrain departed on the rails into the sky. As they did, they passed through a few tall mountains before the Chemical Plant came into their view. The train car rattled on the tracks, both Slay and Milley sitting in the car behind the engine.
As they sat down to relax and ride, Milley was looking out of the window to see the plant coming in closer to view. The lights on the tracks reflected off the windows of the train, Milley watching before bringing her attention to Slay. He was looking outside the window as well, unaware of Milley looking over his way.
Milley's face turned red for a moment, looking to the side as it faded slowly from her muzzle. "So, this is one of the fastest ways to the plant from the island, right?" She asked, which grabbed Slay's attention as he looked over at her.
"That's right." Slay said as he nodded. "The SkyTrains are like one of the fastest ways to get from place to place. Especially if it's hard to get there on foot." He explained, which she nodded."Right, I see." Milley said before standing up. When she did, she stretched out with her hands above her head before relaxing and looking over at him. He looked away once again, which she raised a brow as she watched. She then saw that his face was red, her own turning red before looking away for a moment.
"Hey Slay." Milley began as she looked back at Slay, which he did look over at her with a raised brow. "I wanted to ask you-" She was then cut off by the sound of Slay's communicator going off.He reached behind him to pull it out, looking down for a few moments before looking back at her. "Sorry, but it's Slade." He apologized, which she nodded as he answered the call.
"Hey Slay. How are things going?" Slade asked on the other end, Slay slouching a bit right now in his seat. "We haven't heard from you since Zai dropped you two off. Are you coming back any time soon?" He asked.
"Yeah, about that." Slay said as he looked at Milley who was listening in as well. "We're going after another Chaos Emerald right now. We now have three, going for four." Slay explained. "You did get the data from Milley, right?" He asked.
"That's right. We did in fact and it's been recalibrated here." Slade said, which Slay grinned as he celebrated a small victory. Mostly because he was right earlier. "And so far, we can see an emerald around your location, the Chemical Plant. Glad to hear the progress."
Slay grinned on his end, but slowly faded as he looked down at it. "Though, we did have a bit of an altercation with Zeno. Apparently he came after the emeralds and Master Emerald as well. Without the help of Lydia and Grace, I don't know what could've happened." Slay explained, looking up at the fox as she too nodded.
There was a moment of silence, only the sound of the train cars rattling along the track. After a few more moments, Slade began to speak. "I see. That's concerning." He said with a sigh to follow. "Well, for the time being I want you to get that next Chaos Emerald. We'll search for the others for the time being while you're out for the next one." Slade explained. "However, I will have a team sent to your location once you get the fourth."
"Sounds good to us." Slay said as he began to grin, lighting up the mood. Milley noticed as she perked up, smiling and giving a small thumbs up.
Slade chuckled on his end, relaxing a bit with a sigh. "Alright then. Remember to do your best, the both of you. Central Command out." He said before the call ended.
Once it was over, Slay placed the communicator back into his quills as he looked over at Milley. "So, what was it you wanted to ask?" He asked her, wanting to continue the conversation before being interrupted.
Milley looked down for a moment, Slay raised a brow and tilted his head before she looked back up at him. She rubbed the back of her head with a sheepish smile on her face. "So with hearing so many numbers of the emeralds, I was a bit confused. And now hearing three and going for four?" She asked as she looked his way. "I know there's seven in total, but where are all these numbers coming from?"
