Chapter 10

Two years later

Everything is set for the ceremony today so the council is due to arrive at any moment. We are all nervous she's gonna be the youngest female alpha in the last hundred years. The ancient knife is ready and has been sharpened for this i helped with preparing food for afterwards. And checked over all last minute items that need to be taken care of. When the council finally arrived we all held our breath even though they still didn't know about me yet. A human that now knew all about their world and had been dragged into it on accident. I don't know how they usually handled these incidents but i don't want to  end up like those people. As they looked around one stopped and looked at me and raised an eyebrow I just shrugged and smiled. Went and stood beside my daughter in the spot meant for her mother conor stood in the spot for her father. As he had taken on as her adoptive father and had indeed been more fatherly towards her. Over the last two years helping to guide her to be the best alpha that she could be.  The council looked at us with surprise and confusion; one stepped forward and he looked to be in his fifties with a slightly kinder face than the others that had come today. "Connor what is the meaning of having a human here in the ceremony and we did not have knowledge of you ever having a new mate or having a child."  Connor nodded at explained that i was Amara's adopted mother and had been so since she was a baby and that upon further inspection they had figured out Amra was an Alpha. So naturally he had allowed us into the pack and had adopted Amara as his daughter. Though me and Conor are not dating we are still the legal guardians of Amara.  The council looked at me skeptical "and you're ok with accepting a human who is not mated to our kind into your pack."

Connor busted out laughing "Yes, I am very willing to allow a human who watched her daughter turn into a giant wolf. And still loved it even got her daughter who was still in wolf form into her car so she could take her home out of a creepy forest where they could figure out how to change back safely. Only to realize that there were a bunch of other werewolves at their house. For her to load a small handgun and tell her daughter to run to safety in a bunker that she built in case something bad had happened and no matter what happens do not stop for her to get in there and close the door. And she fought the fucking piss out of us." Still chuckling, he looked at them and the council turned  to look at me with surprise in their eyes at the thought of a mere human willing to sacrifice herself for a child that wasn't even hers. We will talk on this more  after we perform the Alpha ceremony. They walked up next to Amara and looked her over before they started. They gave a long speech on what it means to be an alpha and have a pack. They asked him if she would give her life for her members and if she promised to care for her pack and put their best interest first. After telling them that she would, they slit her hand and she put it on the ancient stone that sat in the middle of the pack. That signified her mingling with the alphas of the past and promising to take care of their people and to do right by the pack as they would have wanted. I watched as all the pack members kneeled in front of her with their left hand over their hearts and their heads bowed to her.  After that we all went to eat the food me and some of the other women had helped prepare for tonight.After countless days of working and learning Amara's Alpha ceremony is today. I can't believe how far my we have come, An how strong  my little girl has become. She never ceases to amaze me not only in her strength but also in her ability to make the best decision for her people as well.  I had to quit working at the hospital but i started work at the pack hospital instead even went as far as teaching them basic first aid.  I also went through hand to hand combat and marksman training. Not too shabby with a gun if i must say so though Amara's training was way more brutal than mine.  I never want to see my baby girl hurt like that again. I'm not proud to say that her training may have broken a part of me. At one point I had to be removed from the training field due to threatening her trainer with castration if he hurt her anymore. Hopefully all this training pays off after the ceremony when we go to the council to reclaim her family's land. She will officially have a pack to run as her own so they can't deny her,  at least that's what Conor had said. We will find out in a couple days when they arrive for the ceremony. I can tell that Amara's ready to take back what's hers  her wolf has been a little restless and angry lately due to her becoming alpha an with the right to take revenge for her birth parents but i know Amara will make a decision that's best for the pack and not something that she wants. Now if she needs the land or something I wouldn't put it past her to kill them so she gets two birds with one stone. But until then everything will be in the best interest of the pack. She already knows i have her back and at anytime will check her right back into place if she needs it.            
For some reason all of this chapter wasn't showing up so maybe now it will.😡
