One Last Time

(Y/n Pov)

As we are sitting there with Baatar Sr. and Huan, we can feel the fight ensuing with the kids and grandkids, and it is getting dicey. Opal and Bolin return with their friend, who I don't really care about right now, tell us that we need leave. We get Baatar Sr. and Huan on Juicy and Toph walked to them but stopped noticing me not walking. "(y/n)?" I walkup to her. "We can't leave the kids back there against all of Kuvira's forces. From what I've seen from this person, she will probably kill them."

Toph grunts with frustration, "(y/n), we are too old to do any kind of fighting like all that shit going on out there. Our fighting days are over." I put my hand on her shoulders and lean down to her head height. "Toph, those are our kids out there. Our...kids. I don't want to stand by and watch them get killed." I can tell she is now conflicted on what to do and she is getting pissed that I can still make her think about things like this. "Damn it (y/n). You still make my mind jumbled. I chuckle and give her a kiss on her forehead and smile. "What do you say, my Badgermole, one last time for old times' sake?"

She chuckles slightly and punches my shoulder. "That's a yes." And I punch hers back. "Let's go get our kids." Toph announces and bends onto the back of Juicy, and I climb up and sit next to her. "Opal get us up and tell us what the situation is." I order Opal and we take off. Getting up and flying for a few seconds, Opal and Bolin give us the scene. "They got a circle around them with benders on all sides and it's not looking good." I 'look' at Toph and grab her hand kiss her cheek. "Opal bring us about 20 feet from the ground." I feel Juicy angle down and head towards the ground.

"PULL UP!" Toph yells, and we jump off together and impact the ground, causing a giant shockwave into the ground across and around Suyin, Lin, and the kids. The kids start running to us and hop on Juicy. "YOU GIVE METAL BENDERS A BAD NAME!!!" Toph yells towards I'm guessing Kuvira and we hop Juicy as well and take off. We get a good distance away from the factory and land to get our bearings.

"Thanks for coming to get us mom and dad." Suyin says, and Lin thanks us as well. Lin then apologized to us about last night and I said it was okay. "Look, I know I wasn't a great mother." Toph admitted. "And I not the father that was supposed to be there for you." I added. "But one thing is for sure." "We ended up with two great kids." Toph then wraps her arm around me and pulls me into her side. "Good enough to risk our bony old asses for, anyway." I kiss her head and 'look' back at Lin. "If you can just find some way not to hate your mother Lin, maybe that's enough." "At least for me." Toph injects.

Lin grabs Suyin and Toph's shoulders and pull us all into a group hug. "Me too mom." Bolin tries cutting into the hug as well but Toph pushes him out of it. "Enjoy the ride back with that gum flapper there." Toph states. "Aren't you coming back to Republic City grandma?" "No, our fighting days are over, right (y/n)?" "(chuckle) Yes, they finally are. We will leave the fighting up to you guys now, but I'll make her promise that we'll come back when it's over." She elbows my gut, but I take it. "Don't worry. I got this" and we walk off.
