Part 10
Marinette POV
It was undeniable. That was the exact ring that master fu had told me about when he told me what the cat ring looked like.
Could this boy really be my enemy? I didn't know Chat Noir was so sweet... but he must have had a motive... there's no way he would have fought me all these years just to fight me.
"Until next time," Adrien said as he bowed and ran away from me.
Adrien I don't know if there will be a next time...
But does he even know that I am Ladybug? I don't know if he is that sharp... but i could be sorely mistaken.
Adrien POV
It was her all along.
I was running back to my house after dropping Marinette off. Or should I say Ladybug...
The rings were exactly as my father had shown me. It was obvious that she super glued something on top of them to disguise them from me last night in case we met each other. It didn't really do her anywell.
I can't shake the feeling that she knows that I am Chat Noir as well... my glove was so sweaty from carrying her that I took it off unconsciously. She's very smart and I'm almost sure she does know.
"Adrien," Nathalie says as I open the door. "Where were you last night?"
"Oh sorry I fell asleep in the observatory... the one where Chloe and I used to hang out in," I replied scratching the back of my neck.
"I see," Nathalie said hesitantly. "Adrien, please go meet your father upstairs... now."
"Okay," I say as I make my way up.
I slowly opened the door to my father's office.
"Adrien," he said in a stern tone. "Did you find Ladybugs identity?"
I didn't know what to say. I think I had... but I didn't want Marinette to get hurt by my father's spy forces. I know she wouldn't give up her earrings without a fight and that's what scares me the most.
Should I lie to protect her? Or should I tell my father and finally achieve what we have worked for all this time?
"I'm sorry father, I couldn't find out her identity," I said sadly. I will cover her up for now...
"Get out of here Adrien," my father said. "I don't want to look disappointed."
I closed the door gently as I left this office. Normally his words would hurt me, but I hear them all the time so I'm barely phased anymore. As a kid I was torn up about my father's approval. All I wanted was for him to be proud of me... but it seems liek that can never happen. But, a part of me will always try and long for that feeling of praise. The moment when he can be proud of his son.
It was now later in the evening. The sun had gone down a while ago and the stars shun brightly into the crsp night sky. The stars are just like her... just like last night. What am I thinking... leave it to me to fall for my enemy, haha.
"Plagg, what should I do?"
"You finally turn to me for advice... I think you should reunite with the girl. Of course my reasoning is biased because I am meant to be with my sweet Tikki, but that's all I must say. Gimme some cheese lover boy," He said in his usual snarky little tone.
"Here you go," I laughed. "Eat it quickly though. Maybe we will get lucky tonight."
After a couple of minutes, I transformed and was flying through the crisp beautiful sky. At least I could always feel a little bit of freedom. Something caught my eye as I passed the Eiffel Tower.
There she was. What would she say now?
To be continued...
