After the 'incident' in the club a few days ago, the mood between me and Spencer was a little weird. From talking all the time and laughing with each other to almost not exchanging glances.
Even the team noted that something was off, so Gideon decided to grab us two young doctors and flight to Los Angeles to run a training service about profiling for the LAPD.

I was happy that I had the chance to follow along Gideon but as I sat in the car next to him, Spencer in the back, driving to an art gallery to 'have some fun', as the older Agent liked to call it, the awkwardness and tension increased further more.

As we entered the gallery, all three of us wearing our usual wardrobe, I felt a bit out of place.
My eyes scanned the room, and everyone seemed so fancy.

I tensed as Spencer's arm brushed my own accidentally and the heat his touch generated inside of me was still the same as outside the club, where his hands travelled up and down my waist and his tongue-.

"Spencer! Spencer Reid!"

I blinked a few times, trying to get myself out of my completely inappropriate thoughts, and looking up to see a man, who seemed a bit familiar, walking up to the three of us.

"Hey..."

"Dude, dude, dude. Look at you. Whoa, you look just the same."

Spencer was rather uncomfortable as the dark-haired man hugged him and examined him from head to toe, shaking his head in disbelief. "Look at you, dude, nothing's changed."

Then he turned to Gideon.
"Spencer was the only 12-year old in our graduating class. Just the same."

His eyes met mine, him doing the same thing with my body as he had done with Spencer's, but in a more lustful and interested way.
God, I just wanted to hide behind Spencer and never leave his side.

"Oh my and look who we have here. Isn't that lil' Viv? Well you've grown, girl. You look stunning."

I cringed, remembering the nickname Parker had given me when I was hanging out with some of the older kids of my school.
I hadn't been one of the cool kids, but I guessed it helped that I didn't look that bad.
Still, they had always used me for doing their homework.

I cleared my throat as his eyes scanned over my body.
"Thanks." I laughed shortly and tried a smile as he stepped forward and hugged me.

I held my hands up and tensed, not wanting to touch him and provide any further interaction. His hand slowly travelled from my waist to my ass and that's when I pushed him away from me slowly.

I wasn't going to make a scene in front of so many people, but I wasn't a 13-year-old kid anymore, with whom he could do anything with.

"It's really nice to see you again, Viv." He whispered in my ear and I pressed my eyes closed, taking a couple of steps back and smiling awkwardly, brushing a piece of hair behind my ear.

"Yeah."

I could see how Spencer's body had stiffened and my eyes fell to his hands, that were formed into fists, and bit my lip unintentionally.
It just looked so hot I couldn't avert my eyes.

"This is Special Agent Jason Gideon. This is Parker Dunley. We went to high school together as you can probably gather." Spencer introduced the two of them while they shook hands, Gideon smiling slightly.

"Hi, how are you?"

"Hey."
I rolled my eyes. He was the one who didn't change in the slightest. Always wanting the attention.

"It's a beautiful gallery."

"Oh, thank you. Thank you." I cleared my throat.

"Yeah, I didn't even know it was yours."
I smiled too bright for my own good at Spencer, knowing it had been his idea to go to exactly this gallery.

Spencer shook his head slightly, brushing a piece of his perfect hair behind his ear.
"Well you didn't ask, and I figured you wouldn't even remember your high school experiences, friends or classmates."

I swallowed. Well if that wasn't a salty allusion than I wouldn't know what would be.
"Oh really? Guess I'm not as dumb as you thought I was."

"I've never said that."

"Oh yeah, because you didn't need to since we're profilers and everyone knows what's inside your genius head."

"All I wanted to say was that I didn't expect you to remember."

"Ah, well then sorry Mister 'I have an eidetic memory and an IQ of 187'."

Parker started laughing suddenly and Spencer and I averted our heated gazes to Gideon and him, who were staring at us; Dunley with wide eyes and Gideon with a small smile.
"Wow, 187? That's a lot."

I rolled my eyes. It wasn't even the fact that all he got from our heated discussion was that his IQ was so high; It was more the fact that I knew it.
I knew that he was a genius and perfect and everything and I couldn't and didn't even want to say anything against it.

I was proud, I was happy for Spencer that he got the recognition and the adoration he deserved but I knew that I couldn't give it to him the way I wanted to give him so I was pissed off.

My heart was breaking every time JJ called him Spence, some other woman smiled at him or someone told him how incredible he was because those were all the things I wanted to do but I knew I couldn't.
Because if I started, I wouldn't have the strength to end and everything would go inappropriate for colleagues.

Spencer smiled slightly -that damn smile- and shrugged, before he changed the subject really quick, hating to talk about himself.
"Jason's a big contemporary art enthusiast."

"Well, we're exhibiting four up-and-coming artists in this show. Everything's for sale and I could definitely swing a nice discount for a friend of-."
He trailed of as his head shot to the side at the sound of women laughing, my eyes meeting the one's from the woman he was looking at.

She was beautiful.
More than that, she had a nice smile on her lips, which wasn't really common for gorgeous LA-girls like her.

Parker rushed to her side while gesturing with a wave of his hand to follow along with him.
"Lila! Hey. Guys, come on."

Spencer turned around, his hands in his pockets and his eyebrows furrowed.
"Do I look like a 12-year old to you?"

Gideon smiled. "14?"

I rolled my eyes laughing and went to talk to this Lila girl, while giving Spencer a last glance.
"13, tops."

Then I turned around again, smiling at Lila and stretching my hand out for her to shake it.
"Hey, nice to meet you. I'm Genna."

She smiled back happily, shaking my hand without hesitation.
"Lila, the pleasure's all mine. Where are you from?"

"Originally, I'm from-."

I got interrupted by Parker shoving Spencer right next to me, so I was pushed to the side.
"Spencer, you ever met a real movie star?"

Lila smiled and a little blush crept onto her cheeks as her eyes locked with Spencer's, him brushing a piece of hair behind his ear.

"Movie star? Please, she's a supporting role on a television series about beach volleyball. Totally blue-collar." The brunette woman next to her said, rolling her eyes.

I snorted. I already liked her.
"Well, everything's better than looking at dead bodies all the time, right?" I joked, before deciding to get some fresh air.

I wouldn't want to put myself through the flirty eyes the beautiful blonde gave Spencer non-stop. It was my decision to tell him that we shouldn't be together and now I had to live with the consequences.
