sequel to poetry outloud to follow Tae and Guk in college as Jeongguk works toward his doctorate and Tae experience new things outside of high school😍
mostly because i really like these characters and missed them the second i ended the other story...
"Boop." I smile at Jennie as she boops my nose after ive shut my laptop. Finally finish my final sentence, on my final paper, of my final semester, of my first year of university and click submit.
"Im done." I sigh.
"Just finals now?" She asks sipping her iced coffee and handing me this frozen drink she always gets me when she has time to stop. Its like hot chocolate but for summer.
"Just finals." I nod looking around the library at all the flustered looking students. "What about you?"
"Ahh.. Well.. critical reading paper is my last one and im about a fourth of the way done."
"Jen! its due day after tomorrow!" I stare wide eyed at her.
"Yeah? I work better under pressure." She shrugs. I feel anxious for her! What if she doesn't finish!? Should i offer to help her? "Stop that." She glares at me. "I did this all through high school. All my other papers are done."
"I cant help it! Last minute stuff makes me sweat." She laughs making me smile.
"Its not even your paper!"
"What ever. Do what you want." I try to sound at ease but it makes her laugh again.
"Wheres Mr. Dr. Handsome?"
"The teacher vortex. He is assisting in paper grading. So he has to read all these thousands of words about the same topic and make sure we cited everything correctly and grade them. Its part of his doctorate stuff."
He is exhausted. Hes up late grading and he stays in his office at home to keep the student teacher barrier like he use to.
To be fair its no where near the same. He jokes with me that everyone in the class has witnessed our debates on work so they know he doesn't unfairly grade me. Hes actually harder on me sometimes because as he says "I know what youre capable of."
"Sucks to be him!" She laughs. She laughs a lot. Its nice to be around. Shes easy going and doesnt push and its almost motherly in a way, she tries to protect me sometimes. Im glad she had the nerve to approach me.
"Indeed." I agree smiling softly at her.
"Lunch?" She offers and i roll my eyes because i know she putting off her paper.
"If you promise to work on your paper after?" She rolls her eyes but agrees with an annoyed huff.
