"There's a lot of people." Sejung muttered as she walked around the ballroom, her arm around Jungwoo's. "That concerns me."

"But the prophecy you got was danger for the Siren Choir." Jungwoo told her. "They're not going to attack on a night like this, that would be too predictable."

"I guess." Sejung muttered. "We did increase our defences, what little ones we has at least."

Jungwoo gave the girl a soft smile, running his fingers through her hair.

"I'm telling you, everything will be alright."

...

"You're nervous." Seojin turned around to see her cousin standing there.

"Why are you here?" Seojin asked. Seungmin gave her a look.

"You know this is technically my home, right. I lived her more than you did." Seungmin told her.

"Right." Seojin said, tapping her thigh with a finger. "Shouldn't you be with your wife?"

"Seojin." Seungmin said as he took a step forward, ignoring Seojin's question. "The protection around the castle is higher than I've ever seen in my entire life. Not to mention that some of the strongest supernaturals of this world are here tonight. No one would dare try something in these ground, and certainly not Dongwook."

Seojin looked out the window, down at the rest of the Vampire Kingdom.

"I know, and that scares me more than anything else right now."

...

Minjee watched a Renjun twirled Eunjung around the dance floor, his steps light and graceful.

Since when was he such a good dancer?

Minjee felt someone's presence join her from behind, turning to see Haechan holding two drinks.

Haechan looked good in the new suit. He looked really good. It matched her dress perfectly. But what gave her an unsettling feeling in her stomach was the fact that Renjun's suit was also the same colour.

What were you expecting though?

Minjee should have know when she selected her usual dress that she wore to the Witch Coven events, the one where each male witch owned a matching suit to. She should have known when she gave Haechan her father's suit jacket. And she should have known when she saw Renjun walk out of his house the day before, the same jacket on a hanger in his hand.

"Is something wrong?"

Haechan's voice immediately snapped Minjee out of her thoughts and she quickly took her drink from Haechan's hands.

"Sorry I'm just tired." Minjee lied. She had to come up with an excuse for staring in Renjun's direction and that was the only thing she could think of.

"Oh, should we find somewhere to sit?" Haechan asked, looking around the room. Minjee immediately shook her head, taking Haechan's free hand in hers before quickly downing her drink.

"Hurry up and finish your drink. I want to dance." Minjee said, giving Haechan a smile as she tugged his arm.

"Dance?" Haechan asked, raising an eyebrow. Minjee nodded.

"I think it'll help wake me up." Minjee responded.

Haechan seemed hesitant but eventually finishing his drink.

"Well, whatever you say, Kang Minjee." Haechan said, moving towards the centre of the dance floor with her. Minjee couldn't help but smile as she saw the confident smirk on Haechan's face as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
