"Does he even know how to work that thing?" Sejung muttered as she watched Dongwook fiddle with the machine.
The small group was inside the agency building in the training area. Since Jaehyun would be the one ultimately going up against Sora, Taeyong had suggested that they train in the simulation rooms.
Sejung was partnered with Jungwoo and the two were tasked with making sure Dongwook doesn't cause any trouble. Sejung already had a feeling that Taeyong was going to assign her that just because she was one of the few agents that could handle the male.
Sejung kept her guard up the entire time they traveled to the building. Doyoung had granted Dongwook access and that was already enough to concern her. The fact that Jungwoo kept shaking beside her didn't help either. It was clear that he was very intimidated by the phoenix.
Now, Jaehyun was inside the glass room alone, waiting for whatever Dongwook had planned for him while Dongwook was fiddling with the machine outside that controlled it.
"You're forgetting that I was an agent here, long before you two." Dongwook reminded them as he finished setting up. "This place hasn't changed one bit."
Sejung simply stayed quiet, already annoyed. She watched as a smirk appeared on Dongwook's face, an obvious sign that he knew what effect his words had on her.
His smirk faded though as Jaehyun's surroundings changed, the simulation beginning. Sejung could tell that Jaehyun was taking aback as well.
"Jaehyun had to handle all that by himself?" Jungwoo exclaimed, his mouth wide open as he stared at the poor demon who was now surrounded by flames and a figure that resembled Sora across from him.
"Yup, and the sad part is, that's our best chance in winning this battle." Dongwook replied with a deep sigh.
...
Xiaojun looked at the small group of sirens in front of him, the group of survivors.
The Academy had transformed into a huge training area for the alliance army, and the sirens were at the lake, learning how to use their powers effectively in battle.
The group was quite large in comparison to what the others had, but it was too small in Xiaojun's eyes. He couldn't help but think about all the sirens that had died during the fire, the Siren Queen being one of them.
"Is Sejung coming?" A young girl asked. Too young. She shouldn't be fighting for her life at that age.
"No, she's completing another task." Xiaojun said before taking a deep breath.
He turned towards the lake taking a deep breath. The air was cold, the last bits of winter still there as spring was slowly creeping in.
Xiaojun lifted his hands and two columns of water shot up.
"Follow me." He directed.
Xiaojun then opened his mouth, singing a long note, the others following him.
...
"Come on." Kun grumbled, pulling the male sprite by the sleeve. "You can't be sad a grumpy right now, we have people to train."
"Whatever." Chenle replied, shoving Kun off his arm. He sighed as they arrived at the group.
"You know what to do." Kun said as he motioned to the disassembled weapons on the table, each with a bowl full of iron bullets inside.
"Ugh." Chenle groaned as Kun turned towards the creatures in front of them.
"So after the skills assessment, you all seem to fit shooting the most. Our ace shooter here at both the Academy and H.I.D.D.E.N. will be teaching you all how to assemble and disassemble the weapons in front of you. Please remember to stay safe during your training and carefully listen to the instructions. We did lay out the ground rules earlier but I would like to remind you that pointing a gun to another creature will get you kicked out and locked up in captivity."
