I changed it a bit, I hope you don't mind - I tried making it a bit more... sentimental.

Art class. Though the only art is the teacher himself instead of anything else. I mean, sure as hell he's beautiful and all, but it's more about his personality and how smart he is – he always knows some interesting detail about literally anything and he's often commenting about studying more. I'm probably the only one who simps for him that way, in admiration, and sometimes get in debates with him while the others' interest just stops at his face. Or maybe pants.

"And ink is the best to work with considering it's waterproof and won't fade easily," I add as Mr. Way finished an explanation to why he wouldn't recommend a girl to use a simple biro pen to trace her art with after she complained about how ink is expensive.

"So, if you don't want your drawing to be ruined, considering how you'll work with it..." I shrug, shooting her a careless look before my eyes quickly return to Mr. Way – he's got an approving look as pointing to me with a nod, like if to sign I'm right.

"That's it," he says, smiling, not minding how the girl grumbles with herself. The look he shoots me makes me feel butterflies in my stomach, also proud of myself. He seems to notice it, his gaze never leaving mine as his smile softens and he tilts his head lightly, letting some bangs of dark hair fall on his face while he looks at me from under his lashes. Fuck, that's hot.

My eyes immediately fall to the table again with the blush creeping over my cheeks. I'm not able to identify if the chuckle coming from him right after that is due to my reaction or another completely different thing. Nonetheless, my cheeks grow hotter and I sigh, continuing to make the line art.

"(L/n)?" Mr. Way says after a moment and I look up with a hum, startled when seeing he's closer than I imagined, right in front of me. "Can you stay after class?" A small, almost imperceptible smile decorates his lips, not to mention a few of his manners give in the suppressed excitement, leaving me curious.

"Of course," I nod with a small smile, trying to show I understand it's nothing bad, despite the looks sent my way by the other students.

Half of my mind continues trying to figure out what he's got to tell me during the rest of the class, in a way I'm startled when the bell rings – Gerard laughs and, once again, its reason isn't really clear.

I gather everything and wait for everyone to have left the room to finally approach Gerard's desk – the last students leaving the room shoot me a sour look before walking out the door.

"So," I approach the desk, waiting for him to finish organizing the few papers over it then continue. "What's it you wanted to tell me?"

"Ah, right," Gerard grins, his eyes darting around the room for a moment. "I mean, you're more than a student to me-" He says and I slowly nod, my heart beating faster. "-you're my friend and I wanted to tell you the news. I'm engaged." And my heart goes directly to the trash.

"O-Oh," I stutter, my eyes widening lightly and my lips trembling as I try to crack a smile, but can't bring myself to it. "That's, um, amazing." I nod like if trying to trust my own words. Maybe I like him more than I imagined. It's like a bucket of cold water suddenly thrown on my head – I somehow thought he'd be exclusively mine, forever. That's so stupid.
