One and One is Two

Mermaids

The Beatles were touring in Australia when suddenly a blast of light flashed around their legs and threw them into the ocean.

The same thing happened to the kids.

Ringo was the first to notice that he was able to breath under water and had lost his legs and gained a tail.

"Lads. Look at me" said Ringo.

"Look at your tail" said John.

"Lennon, you have a tail too" said George.

"I do! Paul has one too" said John.

"So does George. We all have tails" said Paul.

"So do we" said Charles Wallace.

"Wait. If we have tails and are able to breathe under water... doesn't that mean we're" Calvin began.

"Mermaids?" finished Sam.

"Looks like it" said John.

"What? How? Why?" Meg said.

"All viable questions" said Charles Wallace.

"Well, what do we do?" said Ringo.

"Enjoy it, I'd say" said John. "I'm with John" Sam said.

The guys started to explore the reef they were on.

"Hey, Paul. Maybe while we're mermaids, we'll see a shark" said Meg.

"I highly doubt that" said Paul.

"Have you ever met a shark?" Meg asked.

"No and I don't plan to" 

"Do you know how old sea turtles are?"

"Sea turtles? I can't say" said Paul.

"People in my Science Club say that sea turtles live to be about a hundred years old" Meg said.

"That does sound interesting. Y'know, if I ever meet a sea turtle, I'll ask him. After I'm done talking to the shark" said Paul making Meg laugh a little.

"Paul? I honestly don't care if we ever turn back into ourselves. I like being a mermaid" Meg said.

"But what about home?" said Paul.

"Oh, I don't care. As long as I'm with you" Meg said.

"Meggie... I need to say this, love. Back on land, I had a song I wanted to sing to you. I mean, I guess I could sing it to you as a merman." said Paul.

"Please do" Meg said.

Well, well, well. Things are already getting romantic!

We'll get to hear Paul's song for Meg in the next chapter.
