chapter eight

-Lila's POV-
I really loved the fact that Calum did that. but what's going to happen? I don't want to have to face those girls again. we walked the short distance to home and set our stuff down.
"how was school?" my mum yelled from the kitchen. Calum and I were literally in complete unison, it was weird.
"good!" we both said. we've done that since we were little, we've always say a whole bunch of things at the same time and walked the same steps. I guess that's just what happens when your best friends for 17 years. Calum grabbed my hand and we walked upstairs. he planted his soft lips on mine and closed the door.

-Calum's POV-
I pulled her away from the door and on the bed. I snuggled up close to her and pulled her on my lap.
"I love you so much." she said kissing me. I was kinda taken back. she was never like this, to be out of her shell like that. I wrapped my arms around her small waist. she got off me and plopped down next to me.
"I love you too." I said kissed her head. she managed to wrap her arm around my back and my stomach. it was really cute, she was like clinging to me. I kissed her forehead and I sat up.
"let's go downstairs and eat something, then we can watch some tv." i suggested.
"okay." she said with a smile.
we walked downstairs and I grabbed a banana and she grabbed a granola bar.
"what would you like to watch?" she asked.
"how about Full House? it brings back old memories." I said with a sly smile.
"yeah, I remember coming over here when we were 6 to watch episodes." she said with a giggle. she got up and turned on the tv and I laid a blanket and pillows on the floor. I grabbed the remote and started to get to the channel.
"are we sitting on the floor?" she asked pointing to the pillows. I nodded a yes and she sat down. I sat down next to her and pulled her close to me. I finally got to the channel and kissed her. we watched a whole series in about two hours. our parents were unusually quiet today. we didn't have any homework so it was less stress on us. I looked down at her occasionally and she was started to daze off. i turned off the tv when I realized she was asleep and I picked her up. she was always exactly 3 inches shorter than me and she was so light compared to me. I carried her up to my room and tucked her in. I walked out and met my mum in the hall.
"she sleeping?" she asked.
"yeah, I'm going to get something for dinner." I said back.
"oh I'll help!" my mum said joyfully. we went down and she made me mad and cheese. I barely got to help because she wouldn't let me.
"mom please I'm almost 18 I think I can do things for myself." I said sternly.
"well I just want to help okay." she said kissing my forehead. she really was a great mother. my dad was asleep upstairs because he was worn out from the flight home. I got a text from Michael when I sat down.

M: hey do you and Lila want to hang with me and Deanna after school tomorrow?
Me: Sure, where?
M: how about at the park by the school?"
Me: Sounds like a plan!

I put the phone down and my mum handed me a bowl of mac and cheese.
"thank you mum." I said smiling. Lila walked into the kitchen when I was halfway done.
"did I fall asleep?" she asked rubbing her eye.
"yeah, when we were watching Full House." I said.
"oh.. I'm quite hungry. I'll make myself some cereal and join you." she said.

-Lila's POV-
I made my cereal and sat by Cal.
"hey, Michael and Deanna want us to hangout by the school park tomorrow, is that okay?" he asked me.
"uh sure." I said. I wasn't sure actually. I was kinda scared of Michael. he reminded me of my dad.. that wasn't good. I knew that he wasn't like that, he just looked like him. I knew Calum would be there to protect me though. we continued eating and I was still pretty tired after. we both decided to just go to sleep.
"goodnight mum. we're heading to bed." I heard him say. he caught up with me and hugged my side.
"I love you! sweet dreams angel." he said as we feel into a deep sleep.
