chapter twenty two

-Calum's POV-
I signed all the papers and went to play with the kitten as they confirmed all of my papers.
"hey little guy!" he ran and climbed up on my lap. he had piercing blue eyes and has grey-ish blonde fur. he was licking my hand and was rolling all over my shirt. having the little guy on me just made me all happy.
"alright, your papers are all good. here's some recommend food and bedding." the last came back and said. I stood up with the kitten.
"thank you so much!" I said. I went back and grabbed the food and bed, and anything he would need. I paid, and left. Michael and Deanna left to go get food since they hadn't eaten while I was signing papers. I was surprised to see them back already in the parking lot.
"hey. this is our new kitten." I said bucking up. he was in a tiny cage.
"awh! he is so adorable!" Deanna said.
"he reminds me of you!" she said playfully looking at Michael.
"I'm a kitten?" he said laughing. I joined in because that was actually really cute. we still had some time before Lila got back, but they dropped me off back home anyway.
"thank you guys, so much for taking me." I said grabbing my things.
"hey, no problem." Mikey shot me a smile. I could hear the kitten purring. I took out my key and unlocked the apartment door.
"this is your new home buddy." I said looking into the cage. he looked slightly frightened. I sat down all the things and unlocked the cage. he slowly crept out and I watched him walk around the empty room and just look around. I set up all the food bowls and bed and toys. it looked awesome, if I do say so myself. I texted Lila.

C: hey babe. when are you coming hoommee? :(

she didn't text back right away.

L: I'm on my way(:
C: yay! (: I have a huge surprise!
L: what did you do? 😏
C: your gonna have to see..
L: alright. can you meet us downstairs to help bring up furniture?
C: yeah, I'll go down now.

on that note, I shut off my phone and slid it into my back pocket. I walked over and picked up the kitten and out him back in his cage. he purred really loud when I locked the cage.
"I'll be back little guy, don't worry!" I said opening the door.

-Lila's POV-
I pulled up to our apartment a few minutes later. Calum was playing a game on his phone and sitting on the curb. I saw his face lit up as soon as we parked. I unbuckled and ran out the car. I ran and jumped onto Calum. I could smell cologne or something, but it's smelt just like him. I kissed his soft lips.
"your finally back!" he said smiling and twirling us around.
"hey, we need come help.." his dad called out. we both ran across the street and helped bring in all the boxes. when I first walked into the apartment, and a huge smile was on Cal.
"what's with the smiling babe.." I questioned.
"look around!" he said spinning. I turned my head sideways and there it was. a kitten! I ran into a hug from Cal and kissed him.
"oh my gosh!! a kitten! this is so amazing I love you!" I was so overjoyed. he was laughing and I ran over and unlocked the cage.
"hey little guy.." I said sticking my hand out. Cal walked over and sat next to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
"what should we name him?" he asked.
